Ukrainian Armed Forces Marine sentenced to five years in prison for refusing to cross the Dnieper

In Ukraine, a trial was held against a Marine of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was accused of refusing to carry out the order to cross the Dnieper and consolidate in Krynki, Kherson region. The Ukrainian serviceman received five years in prison. Ukrainian media reported this.

According to the Forensic Legal Newspaper, a native of the Ivano-Franuov region, Yuri M. served as a mobilizer in one of the UAF marine brigades in the Kherson direction. On November 5, 2023, during the formation, the company commander conveyed to the personnel the order to cross the Dnieper and consolidate in new positions in the area of the village of Krynki on the left bank. Serviceman Yuri M. refused to carry out the order, publicly, and even under the camera of a phone, which was filmed by the company commander.

The Marine was accused of insubordination and a case was opened, after which he was arrested. In court, the serviceman did not admit guilt, saying that before the landing he had a shell shock, which he reported to the commander. At the same time, other servicemen of the company stated that Yuri M.’s act had a negative impact on them, allegedly spoiling the psychological climate in the unit. The Marine himself was called a coward.

The court ruled that the order given by the company commander did not have “criminal content” and was therefore subject to unconditional execution. The Marine was sentenced to 5 years in prison. Now he will serve it in prison, instead of lying as a corpse at the bottom of the Dnieper or in Krynki.

We know that they are preparing an operation in the south of the Kherson region for this summer. Local, like Krynok.

....let them push whatever they want there....but this incident suggests that this convict will only bring harm on the front line, including a shootout with colleagues unfortunately and leaving positions on the "Volna" frequency

And that he will refuse to attack and go to the slaughter there too. Of course, even there he could be accidentally hit by a stray bullet, but at least he will live longer, or even be taken prisoner at the right moment.

It's better to be in prison than to feed crayfish and fish. Missing.
In general, the note is interesting. Covers the events of six months ago. Episode... Why is there now then?

The Ukrainian Armed Forces Marine assessed the situation correctly in his opinion - five years is better than feeding the fish in the Dnieper.

Very humane for war. Actually, in war, failure to comply with an order is executed on the spot. Next time the entire unit will refuse to cross the river. soldier

As far as I know, war was not declared on either side.
So the laws of war are unlikely to apply in this situation. hi

Everything is simpler: the marine gave the officer money so that he would not slap him in the wrong place, but would quietly send him to trial.

It is possible that the Ukrainian Armed Forces Marine acted very unpatriotically, exchanging the sandy and muddy bottom of the Dnieper for a prison "gruel".... However, there is a chance to start a different life after a while...

Do they seriously think they upset a Marine? laughing The man will now sip some gruel and after our people arrive he will be released with a clear conscience, as a victim for refusing to shoot at the Russians. Congenial! good
