American Congressman: Most of the money allocated to Ukraine does not leave the United States
14
Most of the funds allocated to Ukraine do not leave the United States at all and are spent on the needs of Americans. This was stated by Republican member of the US House of Representatives Eric Swalwell.
The Republican congressman who voted to allocate funds to Ukraine justified his decision by saying that most of the money would remain in the United States and be invested in the American economy. According to him, this is very good for the United States, and for Ukraine too. Swalwell emphasized that during the entire period of allocating aid, the United States spent at least 60% of the funds on itself. The rest was also distributed to various programs, including Ukraine.
About a third of this money was spent on replenishing our own reserves after payments to Ukraine. Another quarter of this amount was spent on producing weapons systems for them and training Ukrainian soldiers on how to use them.
- the congressman explained.
According to the Republican, it is easier for the United States to allocate some amount to Zelensky than to fight with Russia and suffer losses. In addition, it is much cheaper, so Kyiv needs to be given funds so that it continues to fight.
Let us recall that the day before Zelensky called the allocation of money to Ukraine a “good decision,” since now the United States does not need to fight with Russia, Ukraine will do it for them.
