In the United States, 12 of 20 B-2 Spirit strategic bombers were observed taking off simultaneously from an air base.

The US Air Force press service reports an extremely rare case when 12 of 20 B-2 Spirit strategic bombers simultaneously took off from one of the American air bases.

It is stated that this is the first time that such a number of aircraft of this type have been flown into the air. B-2 Spirit strategic bombers have been spotted in the skies over Minnesota, and military sources say the Pentagon is moving missile defense systems to positions on the US West Coast.

It was previously reported that the United States continues large-scale modernization of its nuclear arsenal. In this process, one of the central places is occupied by the development and production of nuclear warheads. According to data presented in the annual report of the National Nuclear Security Administration of the US Department of Energy, five nuclear weapons programs are currently underway, two of which are already in production and operation, and three of which are in the development stage.

In particular, production of two types of free-falling air-launched nuclear bombs B61-12, as well as new warheads for submarine-launched ballistic missiles, has been launched.

In addition, the report submitted to Congress also examines other key activities aimed at modernizing the US nuclear arsenal, including infrastructure recapitalization and research and engineering development.

We should respond by taking off 12 poplars at the same time. With a small letter, so that we don’t get scared.

Practicing the exercise of getting out of a blow. A standard exercise for strategists. Apparently not all 20 are in service, some are in TECH for maintenance, etc.

And you are too generous. Burn 12 strategic missiles overnight solely for the sake of showing off.
      Irrational.

Well, you make at least one rocket, and then we’ll see whether you feel sorry for it or not.
And the old Poplars will find quite a worthy use. The times of disposal by detonation in the presence of sworn friends are over.

Topol missiles are used for civilian launches in the form of Start and Start-1 missiles. The Start-1M modification is currently being prepared. So Poplars will not be left idle.

The first poplars are not for decommissioning, but for conventional launches with a commercial load after minor modifications. Launches will begin in 2026, the launch pad is already being prepared.

You can issue an urgent message to all the media that in Nsk they cut a hundred poplars and took them away for disposal... And this will be the honest truth! The city is freed from poplar fluff, replacing poplars with ash.

It seems that strategic nuclear forces are conducting exercises to quickly deploy the aviation component.
Related tasks are to slightly scare China and Russia into the bargain and monitor their reaction to this event.

production of two types launched free-falling nuclear bombs

Are they not being upgraded to JDAM?
    Or is this basically impossible?

In the 80s, the United States held Global Shield exercises every summer. In the 2nd phase of these exercises, hundreds of B52 and B1B simultaneously took off and flew towards the USSR. Then, after the turnaround point, they walked back in complete radio silence to check their air defense systems.
In short: the usual everyday life of flight work, nothing new

In the year 74 or 75, an alarm was ordered to build. This was not usual. They announced that the alarm was not a training alarm (there were usually 2-3 alarms per week). We worked with a "light". wink
After lights out, it was the only time during the service that they returned from positions with the banner unfurled.
PS Here's a question. In our time, there were air defense missiles with “nuclear filling”. Is this too cool now?

If they had flown towards the North Pole, then our General Staff would have taken adequate measures. Routine in a word.

They will fly to the North Pole simultaneously with the launch of missiles from submarines and from silos, not before. But we will already have, in general, this is no longer as important as taking care of the soul in these minutes

Now we will wait to see how many of the 12 sit down. Village 6 would be great, the rest would be an eternal flight.

    Nothing unusual.
The “Elephant Walk,” when a large group of planes takes off at the same time, is an infrequent but quite common element of pilot training in the States.

I wonder who so many nuclear weapons are against. And how is Washington going to sit out, bombing someone, without receiving answers. Where do they get such pathological confidence that no one will make a word against them or press the red button, but only they can.

But this is the million-dollar question, and this is not just their self-confident nonsense. And the harsh truth of life is that we haven’t received mattresses for cabbage soup for a long time.
