“An analogue of the Russian S-400 system”: Iran presented a new Bavar-373 anti-aircraft missile system on a Belarusian chassis
During a military parade held on April 17, 2024 to mark National Army Day, Iran unveiled a new version of the newly developed Bavar-373 anti-aircraft missile system mounted on the chassis of an MZKT-791300 8x8 truck, which is produced in Belarus.

Bavar-373 is a mobile air defense system designed to detect and intercept missiles, drones and aircraft at long ranges and altitudes. The air defense system is planned to be used to protect the territory and strategic objects of the country from air attacks.
Bavar-373 is positioned by the developers as an analogue of the S-400 [while Western observers believe that in terms of performance characteristics the complex corresponds to the S-300]. The complex includes several components, including launchers, detection radar, 3D early warning radar with S-band AESA Meraj-4 and command and control systems for detecting, tracking and intercepting targets.
The Bavar-373 is capable of launching the Iranian-made Sayyad-4B anti-aircraft missile, which is an upgraded version of the Sayyad-4, a two-stage solid-fuel interceptor. The missile defense system is capable of engaging targets at a range of up to 300 km and at an altitude of up to 120 km.
The Sayyad-4B is reported to be equipped with an improved seeker, a new guidance and control system, and an improved warhead. These changes were intended to increase the missile's range, accuracy and effectiveness against a wide range of targets, including cruise missiles, drones and aircraft.
