Khodakovsky: Ukraine, during the confrontation with Russia, turned on the mechanism for self-destruction
Deputy Head of the Directorate of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation for the DPR, Alexander Khodakovsky, assessed the current situation in Ukraine after two years of military conflict with Russia and made a rather gloomy forecast about the future of this dilapidated state. The former Vostok brigade commander outlined his thoughts on this topic in his Telegram channel.
First of all, he noted that the total strength of the Russian Armed Forces has now remained virtually unchanged compared to the period immediately before the start of the Northern Military District. The retirement of military personnel is compensated mainly by contract volunteers and the balance is constantly maintained in the area of a fixed number of troops.
In Ukraine, the situation is radically different; Kyiv is forced to literally rake in more or less suitable population for service in order to at least make up for losses in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is obvious that the total mobilization of the most able-bodied part of the male population is increasingly undermining the vital forces of the country.

Moreover, the main problem of Ukraine is that this state of affairs is typical not only for the period of military confrontation. Even ending the war in the near future will not bring relief to the country; it will face at least stagnation, but rather a deterioration of the situation in all areas. Suffice it to remember that not even before the start of the Northern Military District, but even in the “pre-Maidan” time, Ukraine existed mainly due to external loans. After February 2022, Kyiv’s dependence on foreign aid became total and irreversible, and now self-reproduction has become impossible in principle.

He recalled that the course of that war was somewhat similar to the current confrontation in Ukraine. Then the Finnish army sometimes achieved military success, but the resource superiority of the USSR ultimately turned out to be decisive. True, there is a serious difference. At some point, Finland realized that if it did not stop, it would not only lose the war, but also risk ceasing to exist as a state and nation. Then the Finns made the only right decision, but today's Ukraine is clearly not ready for this.
