Borrell: The United States does not shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine because there are no American military bases on its territory

The US and UK cannot shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine as they can over Israel, because there are no US or British military bases on Ukrainian territory. This was stated by the head of the EU foreign policy service, Josep Borrell.
The representative of the European Union spoke at a press conference, where he explained to the journalists present the difference between Ukraine and Israel. It turns out that everything is much simpler than it seems, and you don’t need to invent anything, Borrell will do it for you. According to him, the whole difference is that Iranian missiles flew towards Israel over the military bases of NATO countries, and therefore were shot down by their air defense systems. And there are no NATO military bases in Ukraine, so neither the United States nor Britain can participate in repelling attacks on Ukraine. In general, the circumstances are different.
(...) Iranian attacks against Israel took place over bases in France, the USA, Britain and Jordan. Therefore, these countries responded in self-defense. This does not happen in Ukraine. There are no American, British, or especially Jordanian military bases in Ukraine that could be threatened by these missiles
Borrell declared.
In addition, Israel has its own Iron Dome missile defense system, which took many years to create. Ukraine has nothing of its own, and Western allies are not able to create for it a missile defense system similar to the Israeli one, especially in a short time. So all Zelensky’s claims that Ukraine is not protected like Israel are inappropriate here. Josep Borrell said it clearly.
