Macron said that the “river” opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris may not take place if there is a threat of terrorist attack
The spectacular opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, during which sports delegations from different countries are scheduled to participate in a river parade along the Seine, may not take place if there is a threat of a terrorist attack. French President Emmanuel Macron stated this during an interview with RMC and BFM-TV.
According to the French leader, the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 26 may not take place on the Seine River if the security threat is considered too high. Other scenarios have been prepared for this case.
- said Macron.
As the French leader put it, the river parade of sports delegations, during which the latter will overcome 6 km along the Seine, will be the first such event in the world. According to the plan, this parade will end at Trocadéro Square, where, in particular, all invited heads of state will be present. In addition, the organizers planned to accommodate about 100 spectators with paid seats and 000 spectators with free access on the lower and upper embankments of the river.
- Macron assured.
At the same time, one of the viewers expressed concern that her son was going to go to the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
- the French leader assured her, and this actually means an admission that there are no other safe places left in the country.
