American edition: The US President and Congressional representatives reached a consensus on money for Ukraine and Israel
Since last fall, there has been a debate in the US Congress about multi-billion dollar aid to Ukraine and Israel, which President Joe Biden is asking to approve. It has been reported more than once that the interested parties are close to making this decision, but it continued to be delayed.
And so, as the American publication ABC News reports, President Joe Biden and congressmen have “reached a consensus” on the money that the United States wants to allocate for Ukraine and Israel.
The publication writes, citing Senate Democratic Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, that Biden met with representatives of both houses of Congress on Sunday. Schumer expressed hope that the parties would agree on certain issues, but did not specify whether this meant allocating money to Ukraine, adding only that we were talking about a bill that had been approved by the Senate.
However, indirect evidence that the parties discussed a document on assistance to Ukraine and Israel is yesterday’s statement by one of the Republican congressmen, who said that the issue of Ukraine will begin to be resolved this week, ABC News notes.
At the same time, earlier Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson said that so far only the issue of assistance to Israel is being discussed. In any case, the Israeli topic unnerves the Zelensky regime, which understands that the Iran-Israel confrontation is clearly diverting the attention of the collective West.
