Marochko: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are turning the center of the city of Chasov Yar into a powerful fortified area, hiding behind the civilian population

The Russian army continues its offensive in several directions, including Donetsk. The enemy, in turn, as far as possible in the current situation, strengthens the defense in positions, including the maximum possible consolidation of populated areas.

The day before, it was reported that during the assault, Russian troops reached a distance of about half a kilometer from the borders of the city of Chasov Yar. This settlement, located west of Artemovsk (Bakhmut), is of great strategic importance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Since 2014, Chasov Yar has been used by the Ukrainian military as an important logistics hub, where reserves, armored vehicles and weapons are transferred. True, after the RF Armed Forces took fire control of all roads leading into the city, its use as a transport hub became almost impossible.

However, the enemy does not intend to leave the city without a fight. In addition to the traditional ideological significance for Kyiv from the loss of another fortification, this is also explained by the fact that after the capture of Chasov Yar, the Russian Armed Forces will have an operational opportunity to speed up the attack on the city of Konstantinovka, which is even more important for the logistics of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donetsk direction. It is only about six kilometers from Chasov Yar. In addition, operational space will speed up the liberation of other occupied settlements in the DPR (map).

Retired LPR Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko reports in his telegram channel that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are rapidly turning the center of the city of Chasov Yar into a powerful fortified area. At the same time, Ukrainian militants are again acting in their traditional manner, using residential buildings and social cultural objects for military purposes. The city residents are not being evacuated either; the nationalists again intend to use the civilian population as human shields.

In the center of the village of Chasov Yar there is practically not a single building left that was not used by Ukrainian militants for military purposes.

- writes Marochko.

In the basements of administrative buildings, missile and artillery weapons (RAV) warehouses have been created, and command posts and field hospitals are also located here. The Chaika kindergarten and one of the bank branches are used as temporary deployment points for personnel. In residential areas, artillery and anti-aircraft systems are located near residential buildings, the military expert reports, adding that there are still civilians in the city.

As has happened many times in other settlements that were stormed by our military, Ukrainian nationalists, for sure, simply do not allow people to leave the city. In addition, using residential and administrative buildings, hiding behind civilians, the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants expect to avoid crushing blows by the Russian Aerospace Forces using powerful high-explosive bombs capable of destroying any fortified stronghold. At the same time, Russian sources report that the enemy withdrew part of the forces from Chasov Yar to the Seversky Donets-Donbass water canal, leaving their units in the western microdistrict for slaughter in order to delay the advance of the Russian Armed Forces.

History repeats itself. This means that the Ukrainian Armed Forces must be destroyed on marches and places of concentration.

Where was it different...??? They covered themselves, are hiding and will continue to hide... Residents of Donbass are not people for them, but “vatniks and Colorados”, but it’s our task to prove the opposite!!!

I would like history not to repeat itself with a frontal assault for 6 months like with Aremovsk

Chasov Yar was ready for defense last winter when the assault on Artemovsk began

What does it mean to be ready for defense? It was not ready and is not ready now, just as no modern city is ready until it is filled with troops.

Is it not full? even reserves were sent there from personal reserves, and they were ready for defense long ago

logically, more troops are needed. With the main forces, go around and leave behind, driving away reinforcements from Kharkov, and use a separate part of the troops to smoke out those remaining in Kharkov. Surround tightly, reconnoiter, hit with artillery, drones, etc. They still won't last long without reinforcements. Pig after pig, sooner or later, will all end up either visiting their beloved Bandera or in captivity.

Well, what can you do, surround them so that not a single one escapes and don’t take a single one prisoner, otherwise history will repeat itself.

And our usual tactic is to hit these fortifications head-on. Unfortunately, there are no forces and capabilities for encirclements and bypasses yet.

Yes, there is no such habit, fortified areas have not been taken by storm for a long time, they are crushed by FABs. The defenders are destroyed and the defense crumbles. I don’t think we have the strength to encircle cities and keep them in the rear; this requires Blitzkrieg tactics, when those surrounded remain deep in the rear and cannot escape. We are walking slowly and having a group of several thousand people 5 km behind us is dangerous.

Heavy months-long assaults on each opornik are pointless. While ours take one, the enemy manages to dig in the next one. Losses have been suffered. Time wasted. And there is no end in sight.

For a real breakthrough, different tactics are needed.

They will always hide behind civilians. And the time will come in Lvov and Ternopil too. After the volleys, civilians will be driven out of their shelters. Waiting for a response.....

Not long ago they wrote that there were 500m left. It’s almost a year since Artemovsk was liberated, and the distance from it is 15 km. What's the rush if 500 km2 have been liberated in six months?

Well then you need to destroy the city

but before destroying the fortified area of the city, you need to somehow get the civilians out of there!

Bomb, bomb and bomb again. Destroy everyone who tries to retreat. You must understand that there are no “friends” among them, there is an enemy there and he must be destroyed.
