“They will repel the enemy’s landing”: Sweden purchased Nemo mortar boats

Sweden purchased Nemo boats armed with a 120-mm mortar mount from the Finnish company Patria. It is said to fire accurately, despite the movement of the craft, due to an effective turret stabilization system and an advanced ballistic calculation system based on advanced software.

It is possible to conduct direct fire or indirect fire, as well as in MRSI mode (“multi-shot simultaneous shooting”), which involves firing several projectiles immediately after each other while simultaneously hitting the target.

As indicated on the developer’s website, Stockholm purchased a total of 8 boats from the local company Ship Marine AB, of which Patria is a subcontractor. Construction will be carried out at one of the Swedish shipyards (to be selected following a tender).

Together we will create the optimal solution for the Swedish Armed Forces

- noted in Patria.

As expected, the destroyers will be used by airborne troops stationed in Stockholm and Gothenburg. These units operate on the coast, archipelagos and estuaries. Their task includes repelling enemy landings and, if necessary, their own landing.

It is planned that the first vessel will be handed over to Swedish troops at the beginning of 2027, and the last at the end of 2028.

We can deliver vessels in a fairly short time frame. Customers now value fast delivery times

- indicate in Patria.

Que valent t tous ces équipements maintenant que nous en sommes à l'époque des drones?
Drones qui ne feront que s'améliorer aussi bien en puissance qu'en 'intelligence artificielle'

But it’s beautiful, three separate shots with an interval of five seconds, and SIMULTANEOUSLY hitting almost the same point. And all this at full speed.

Tachanka - just not on the Toyota base as slipper-philes love.
On the other hand, you can purchase this for the avalanche service at reasonable prices, since it is even more convenient to release an avalanche from the water than from land.

Normal boat. Gives 45 knots. The gun is stabilized in the vertical plane from min 3 to 85. Rate of fire 12/min. Loading is fully automatic. Destroys surface and ground targets. There is a “pseudo-volley” firing mode, several fired mines explode simultaneously above the target.

...a couple of garage geraniums and no boat....I mean the same...foreign states should have such watercraft

Well, if we take it in general, then “Geraniums” can reset everything. So now, should we arm ourselves with Geraniums alone?) And colleague, there is also a government for attack drones. Nothing prevents the same boat from being equipped with anti-drone protection: jamming, electronic warfare.

...quite...but there are geraniums of all sorts, and they slap them like pies, and this device, in detail from the article “As indicated on the developer’s website, Stockholm purchased 8 boats in total” and further “that the first ship will be handed over to the Swedish troops in early 2027, and the last one at the end of 2028."...here is a time perspective, how long will it take to produce these drones versus 8 boats

Initially, these boats are intended to prevent landings and to eliminate the landed troops. I don’t know whether there will be time at hand to launch drones from the landing force. Well, by the way, a new era begins - competition between Drones and means of influence.

Geraniums are only used against stationary targets.

Strange things, the ballistics of a mortar mine are not very good for direct fire.
Although, our same armored boats "Shmel" could be rearmed from 76=mm PT-76 to a "NONA" or "VENA" turret, or better yet to the "Bakhcha" combat vehicle, for operations in the Dnieper estuaries and on the Dnieper

By the way, there was an idea to also install a 120-mm mortar on the Shmeli, but the stabilization capabilities at that time did not provide satisfactory accuracy indicators.

That's for sure, a stabilized mortar module wouldn't hurt at all in the fleet. It would be possible to shoot illumination mines and cluster mines, if we had such in stock.

It would be interesting to see the results of the firing - especially the consumption for different standard targets at different ranges. As well as the specification of standard ammunition. Such an exotic main gun can be effective in rocky shore conditions in the skerries and fiords of the Scandinavian coast.

If you load buckshot and attach an optical sight, then the elevation angle of the barrel allows you to conduct anti-aircraft fire at drones. Buckshot is effective up to 200 meters.

They have specific conditions - a rugged coastline. They can shoot outside of visual or radio visibility.

on the commercial it says the fire is in motion, I don’t remember that the ships made a short stop while firing, like tanks in World War II

The shooting accuracy of such light boats on the move is not very high.

    Well?
What is the range of a 120 mm mortar, 8 kilometers?
And ATGMs fly at a range of 10 km, loitering ammunition and kamikaze drones have an even longer range. These boats have no protection from missiles at all. In addition, the calculation and installation of the launch can be very well camouflaged and these “destroyers” can be sunk from an ambush.
So how relevant are they if you don’t count on a Papuan enemy? what

The boat was designed to repel landing forces. From a closed position in the skerries it will hit which ATGM?

A kamikaze drone will arrive, where is the boat after it? laughing
Do you even believe that there will be some kind of landing on Swedish soil?
        Chinese? Alien?
They didn’t press into one side of Russia, they couldn’t parachute there.
So it turns out that it’s just an inrush for the military.
Well, what, we reached the shallows (banks), caught a fish and went home, after supposedly completing the training task of repelling the landing! fellow laughing
It’s a pity that the water in the Baltic is still cold, so why not a resort! lol

As I understand it, this is a container. It’s just that in the video it’s attached to a landing craft. His little brother may be pontooned into the reeds off the island. And he’ll even have time to get down, using two outboard motors. I happened to observe something similar at a fish farm on Ladoga. Pure "collective farm", but it works!

Sorry, perhaps off topic: they are talking about the creation of the Dnieper flotilla of the RF Armed Forces... I can even believe that they will recruit and create a “fleet” of acceptable boats... And who will serve? - suicide bombers? I don’t panic, I don’t whine. Just a question: anti-drone protection (?), art, with what seems to be a pretty good Guidance and Correction System - is there anything to counter it with?
That’s how it seems to me, - the Russian Defense Ministry, - even, perhaps, it is not so much necessary to show successes in Ukraine - but to indicate, convince the adversaries of their readiness to fight, to resist, at least in several other directions (Baltic states, Far East, - yes, the southeastern underbelly...).
Hmm... I'm afraid - and that's not the main thing... Aha! I'm talking about migrants again... Today on "Vesti-FM" M. Leontyev spoke, - they say, calm down, don't escalate, - let's be with them as guest workers in the construction sector (!) (?)... Well, like, who - we need money... "...Well, we can’t do without it!...At least until the Victory in the Northern Military District...". What, after the SVO everyone will be expelled?!! Personally, I’m generally beginning to doubt that there will be a positive solution to the problem of the Northern Military District with such an approach to migration policy... That is, - now we are solving the issue with Bandera (how many years have we been solving it?), then we will move on to radical Islamism?!
