Tajikistan's special services detained nine alleged accomplices of the militants who attacked Crocus City Hall
On the territory of Tajikistan, local special services detained nine citizens of the republic. They are suspected of having connections with IS militants (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) who attacked the Crocus City Hall shopping center near Moscow. This was reported by the Reuters news agency.
Currently, operational measures are ongoing in the republic to identify individuals who sympathize with radical groups and participate in their activities. Official Dushanbe became seriously worried after the attack in Krasnogorsk near Moscow, since Russia’s tightening of migration policy clearly runs counter to the political and economic interests of the leadership of Tajikistan.
It is interesting that in the republic the special services are very actively fighting extremism and fundamentalism. This is one of the reasons for the departure to the Russian Federation of precisely that part of Tajik citizens who sympathize with radical ideas and are associated with extremist groups. Until recently, control over such publics in our country was much less intense than in Tajikistan itself.
Let us remind you that all four perpetrators of the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall are now in custody. All of them are citizens of Tajikistan; shortly before the attack, they were in Turkey, where they could undergo training in training camps of terrorist groups.
In addition, five more people were detained suspected of providing various assistance to terrorists in preparation for the attack on the shopping center in Krasnogorsk. Those involved in the attack face life imprisonment.
