Roscosmos is preparing two launches from the Baikonur and Vostochny cosmodromes at once
Roscosmos is preparing two space launches: at Baikonur they completed the assembly of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle, and at Vostochny they prepared a launch complex for testing Angara-A5.
At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the general assembly of the Soyuz-2.1b launch vehicle with the Resurs-P Earth remote sensing spacecraft No. 4 was completed. The State Commission accepted the rocket and authorized its removal and installation at the launch complex of the 31st pad. This will happen on March 29th. The rocket launch itself is scheduled for March 31, 2024.
The rocket will launch the Resurs-P No. 4 spacecraft into orbit. The satellite is designed for highly detailed wide-area and hyperspectral optical-electronic observation of the Earth's surface. It will search for minerals, explore natural resources, monitor the environment, as well as monitor emergencies, create and update topographic and navigation maps.
At the same time, Rostec announced the completion of work on a new launch complex for testing the Angara-A5 heavy-duty launch vehicle at the Vostochny cosmodrome. The comprehensive tests carried out showed that the launch complex was ready to launch a rocket; everything worked as usual.
