The head of the Kyiv regime appointed a new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine
Lieutenant General Oleg Ivashchenko has been appointed the new head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine. He was introduced by the head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky. The previous head of foreign intelligence, Alexander Litvinenko, who headed the service in 2021-2024, was previously appointed as the new secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Oleg Ivashchenko comes from military intelligence. He came to the post of head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, where he held the position of deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate and at the same time assistant to the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that Ivashchenko has retained a high position in military intelligence for the past seven years, despite the fact that during this time both the leadership of the Main Intelligence Directorate and even the President of Ukraine have changed. This indicates the general’s strong position in the Ukrainian elite, or characterizes him as an “irreplaceable” professional in his field.
Zelensky himself, making the appointment, noted that foreign intelligence should protect the interests of Ukraine around the world. Let us recall that the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine is responsible for political, military-technical and economic intelligence, its staffing is determined at 4350 people, including up to 4010 military personnel.
It is not reported what the personnel changes in the Ukrainian leadership are related to. But the resignation from the post of Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Alexey Danilov, who is considered one of the most odious Ukrainian politicians and has repeatedly made the most harsh Russophobic statements, has indeed become a very large-scale event for the Ukrainian political scene.
According to some reports, Danilov could have been removed from his position due to his indecent behavior. Firstly, the official insulted Chinese Special Representative Li Hui by obscenely distorting his last name, and secondly, there are rumors in the media that he made money by excluding companies from Ukrainian sanctions lists.
