Radioactive wood from Chernobyl worth UAH 60 million was sold in Kyiv

Another illegal enrichment scheme has been uncovered in Ukraine. This time it has nothing to do with the mobilization or sale of Western weapons to third countries, but is built on the sale of radioactive wood.

According to Ukrainian media, the SBI suspects... O. the head of the state enterprise “Northern Pushcha”, which belongs to the Chernobyl reserve, for illegally cutting down centuries-old oak trees in a zone of increased radiation and further selling stolen wood using forged documents.

The material says that the sales took place in Kyiv. Moreover, according to the investigation, in addition to the director of the above-mentioned enterprise and his accomplices, a law enforcement officer could have taken part in the criminal scheme. The latter probably accompanied the transport with stolen wood to the place of sale.

In total, according to employees of the Ukrainian State Bureau of Investigation, about 200 oak trees were cut down by the attackers. Damage to the state amounted to about 60 million UAH (approximately $1,5 million at the current exchange rate).

At the same time, nothing is reported about who became the “happy owner” of the radioactive wood, or whether they knew about its origin. It is possible that products made from “Chernobyl oak” may soon hit the market, and it is far from certain that only the Ukrainian one.

Well, the EU countries (especially the Finns, Swedes and Norwegians) and the radioactive Ukrainian one will take it in the absence of the Russian one... They also basically cut down their own... Let Europe get used to radioactivity... In small doses they say it is harmless... Maybe and the body of the inhabitants of Europe will become more resistant to it... Otherwise, judging by their belligerence (especially France), it’s as if they didn’t have to get used to large doses... am

Well, oak furniture is not a cheap thing, so radiation will not threaten ordinary people.

I agree with the furniture, but there are sales of individual parts, for example, a shelf or some kind of slats (in Leroy, for example), so there you can even get it from beech and the price is reasonable. So there are many options for this Chernobyl oak and getting into the houses of “mere mortals”.

It's not even surprising. And they revealed it because apparently they didn’t share it with whoever needed it. Or vice versa, because the tree was not found. request

These schemes have been working there for a long time:
2020-04-23 23:05:01 Accumulated radioactive metal was removed from the exclusion zone in Chernobyl for several years. The special equipment was located at the Rassokha training ground. According to the most conservative estimates, there were more than 77 thousand tons of metal in the exclusion zone. However, drone photographs published back in 2016 showed that hundreds of pieces of equipment in Rassokha simply disappeared. As a result of the investigation by law enforcement agencies, it became known that several commercial firms were involved in processing scrap metal from Chernobyl, the founder of one of them was the father of former President Petro Poroshenko, Alexey Poroshenko.
In addition to radioactive metal, radioactive forest is also removed from the area around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. According to the publication Ukraina.ru, cases of illegal mining of amber, which is then sold to EU countries, have also been recorded in the Exclusion Zone.

Look at the coffins, their new residents won’t give a damn about radiation, and the cemetery will have to be leveled anyway, so that there won’t be any Bandera spirit left.)

The result will be luxurious furniture; in complete darkness you can find chairs, sofas, stools by a slight glow, or using a Geiger brush.
Or, for example, make a “bonfire” without lighting wood, what could be more exciting?

The oak was not taken to Russia. Its price in the EU is now prohibitive. And the scandal from there, inside the country, would have been easily hushed up

Oak goes very well for VIP coffins, but in radioactive ones they will lie for decades, as if alive.

Yes, since time immemorial, they have been exporting everything that can be melted down or processed, and they do not care about radiation) A lot of radioactive metal was also exported there at one time, and then there was a scandal with pipes that were made from that same steel. Mixed 1 to 7 with normal clean steel. Well... money doesn't smell. I hope one of the officials will buy themselves silt furniture made from that wood.

Rien de nouveau il ya déjà longtemps que du bois radioactif de Tchernobyl à été vendu en occident.
    The method ?

If it’s European or American, it’s not scary. The main thing is not in Russian. Otherwise, for some it is war, and for whom business comes first...
