In Russia, a new detector has been developed for the NVO zone, detecting all types of drones by sound

New detection detector drones designed for the Russian military, it is capable of detecting any Drones regardless of the radio frequencies used. As explained at the Tallamho design bureau, the device is acoustic.

Specialists from the Tallamho design bureau have developed a new acoustic drone detection detector for use in the northwestern military zone. Unlike existing devices that focus on the operating frequency of the drone, the new one detects the UAV by sound. In doing so, it can also identify the type of drone as they all “sound” differently. This decision was made due to the enemy’s frequent change of radio frequencies on which UAVs operate.

As the developers explained, the Malik detector is available in two versions: stationary for installation in trenches, dugouts and vehicles, and portable, which is hung on a bulletproof vest. At the same time, the device database is constantly updated, new sounds produced by the drone are added to it. Therefore, fighters can update the program themselves by going to a special website.

(...) no matter what frequencies the drone operates at, it still makes sounds when operating. Different drones hum slightly differently in different situations, so we collect a library of signatures, drone sound features, and upload them to the server. People using Malik detectors can connect them to the Internet and automatically update the list of signatures

- leads TASS words of the representative of KB.

This detector is also capable of detecting rangefinders, ATGM lasers and sniper scopes at a range of up to 700 meters. The device continues to undergo testing; there has been no information yet about the delivery of Malik to the troops.

Well done, KB, after the development and implementation of the BUKH1a (“Owl”) acoustic reconnaissance system, the second product is already at the output, like air, necessary for the LBS. God help you!

What is the detection range of this Owl?

Yesterday Soloviev talked about this new detector. He says it’s really a very good and sensitive device. The fighters appreciate his work highly.

It would be nice to place these at the border, linking them into a net with air defense. Everything is new, this is a well-forgotten old.

More impressive ones are designed for borders and objects.
However, it is unknown whether they were ordered, or whether Miami is in the way.
In general, an extremely old topic.

Photo 3: In 1909, Lieutenant of the Life Guards Regiment N.A. Benoit invented the first sample of a sound measuring station for the Russian army, the work of which was based on the “time difference” method. The station consisted of four electric membrane sound receivers deployed at a distance from each other, batteries and a device that measured the time intervals between the arrival of sound to each of the “microphones” (the sound wave, reaching the membrane, opened the electrical circuit). Based on the recorded readings, it was possible to graphically find the location of the enemy battery. The equipment made it possible to determine the coordinates of the target at a distance of 6–8 km.

There are no EXTRA complexes for reconnaissance and space control!!! If they show usefulness and work effectively! soldier
Well, about the sore point... we need to create a unified control information SYSTEM!!! That there was no “friendly fire”, but enemy birds were detected, identified and destroyed in one, two!!!
No AI is required here, a regular automated control and management system...
Oh yes... these are dreams, dreams, just like that soldier
By the way, you can start with local systems, connecting them into one whole, according to the network principle, will be easier than struggling for a long time over one, “big and great”!

All countries are working on this now. This is a complex system. Its creation and practical application will provide a key advantage on the front line. I would say that it will work more efficiently than artillery and tanks...

Nothing from this combination can be excluded... all together it will work much more efficiently.

Agree. But the drone can reach places where you can’t launch a projectile. The drone itself is a cheap consumable. And it is easier to direct than artillery systems.

Drones, what can we say... now EVERYONE is working intensively on anti-drone weapons!
What will be ahead, means of defense or means of attack, is not clear; we must wait for some tangible results.
Artillery systems... but there is no method against scrap if there is no other scrap! Only counter-battery fighting, one way or another.

Sensors have long been used by both us and the enemy. I've seen several videos about this.

    upload them to the server

But this is a double-edged sword, part of the work was taken off the enemy when they copied the device.
As explained in the Tallamho design bureau, acoustic device.

Here they are - new physical principles))

perhaps it is combined and not just acoustic

This is the only possible explanation. It’s surprising that the entire Internet is flooded with the same type of news and no one pays attention to the fact that in this form the news looks somewhat strange.

Believe it or not, I tried several Android applications (search for the words sound detector) on several phones - and I readily believe that even an ordinary telephone microphone is capable of picking up what a person may not hear. Especially in the region of very low and very high frequencies. Especially a person over the age of 40 when hearing is gradually deteriorating. In short, I’m sure that you can even make a phone application on this topic, and it will save many lives. Even more than this unknown device. Purely due to the mass availability of phones. If anyone is strongly against phones at the front, break the antenna out of it and leave the microphone.

Well done for telling everyone about the development. What other secrets will we give away?
And everyone has already been equipped for LB+10km, right? Why then do volunteers and bloggers collect money for them?

There is no doubt about the usefulness of a detector that works by sound. But one phrase in the article seemed strange to me, to put it mildly:
This decision was made due to the enemy’s frequent change of radio frequencies on which UAVs operate.

Why contrast RF and acoustic sensors? They complement each other. And changing the frequency should not be an obstacle for radio frequency detectors; in modern equipment it is not at all difficult to do both frequency tuning and automatic determination of the operating frequencies of drones. This applies to both detection equipment and equipment for suppressing drone transceivers.

as well as a portable one that hangs on a bulletproof vest."
In full gear: armored armor, not lightweight, but full-fledged plus with neck and groin pads, unloading, not with a standard ammo, but 6 magazines of 60 rounds of ammunition, at least four lemons, walkie-talkie, first aid kit, knife, flask, if possible then just dry it off for a couple of days...
Where else can I hang a “portable detector”?
