Leopard 1A5 tank of Ukrainian cadets overturned in Denmark

An accident occurred east of the Danish town of Skive in which a low-loader tractor carrying a Leopard 1A5 tank overturned. Ukrainian tank crews trained on this vehicle to undergo military courses to learn how to operate German MBTs.
The Leopard 1A5DK involved in the accident was borrowed from the Aalborg Armored Veterans Association. As indicated on TV MIDTVEST, the driver of a tractor-trailer, giving way to a truck overtaking him, was forced to pull over to the side of the road. The trailer, once on soft ground, tilted, which led to its overturning along with the transported a tank and a tractor. The driver did not suffer any serious injuries as a result of the incident and is said to be doing well.
The Leopard 1A5DK is a Danish variant of the A5 version, introduced into service in the 1990s to improve the combat effectiveness of cats that had already reached “mature” age. Unlike other A5 standard vehicles, this modification retained the original turret, which was reinforced with additional armor. The main armament remained the same - a 7 mm L3A105 rifled cannon and a coaxial 7,62 mm MG3 machine gun. The ammunition supply for the gun is 60 shells, 42 of which are placed in the hull, and 18 in the turret.
