Ukrainian MP: The new law provides for mobilization from the age of 18
The new law on tightening mobilization measures, the text of which is sent to the Ukrainian parliament for consideration, provides for the mobilization of citizens over 18 years of age.
According to Ukrainian deputy Dmitry Razumkov, the bill states that if a person has completed compulsory military training at the age of 18, he receives a certain military specialty, is registered with the military, and this gives the right to the bodies of the TCC (military registration and enlistment offices) to mobilize him into the Armed Forces of Ukraine .
In essence, this is Kyiv’s legislative reaction to the recent visit of Senator Lindsey Graham (*listed as terrorists and extremists by Rosfinmonitoring). He, as you know, stated that Kyiv needs to mobilize regardless of age, instead of discussing at what age to start - from 25 or 27 years old.
According to the American edition of The Wall Street Journal, the lack of personnel has become the biggest problem for the Ukrainian army this year. There are often reported cases of Ukrainian citizens being grabbed on the street, beaten and forcibly held behind bars until they sign their consent to serve. At the same time, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men are trying by any means to avoid appearing at recruiting stations, allegedly “for the purpose of registering credentials.”
To solve the problem of personnel shortage in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities intend to adopt a new law on mobilization, according to which it is planned to reduce the mobilization age to 25 years. However, after the introduction of mandatory basic military training when citizens reach the age of 18, as follows from the planned changes in Ukrainian legislation, the Kyiv regime will have the opportunity to send new categories of citizens to the front.
