The French authorities raised the level of danger in the country to the highest after the attack on Crocus City Hall in the Russian Federation
The terrorist threat level in France has been raised to the highest. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, publishing a corresponding post on the social network.
On the evening of March 24, the National Defense and Security Council met at the Elysee Palace. President Emmanuel Macron, who chaired it, decided to strengthen the fight against terrorism and security measures in the country. A special directive for law enforcement agencies states that there is a high probability of terrorist attacks in the country.
Strengthening security measures is associated with events in the Moscow region, where terrorists started shooting at the Crocus City Hall shopping center before a concert of the popular rock band Picnic. The IS terrorist group (banned in Russia as a terrorist organization) took responsibility for the attack. By the way, the French Prime Minister also recalled this in his publication. Of course, in France, as in other Western countries, they prefer to deny a possible connection with the attack by Ukrainian special services.
The fears of the French authorities are not groundless. The country faces a very difficult situation with migrants. Many people from Arab countries of the Middle East and North Africa, from a number of West African countries, living in France sympathize with radical ideas and are associated with various extremist organizations. Previously, the country has already seen attacks on people carried out by people from these regions.
In this regard, the French security forces have no choice but to increase security measures, which, however, does not guarantee the absence of attempts at terrorist attacks on the country’s territory.
