The new Russian complex for combating unmanned aerial vehicles "Serp-VS5" is actively used at enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex and the fuel and energy complex. This was reported by the press service of Ruselectronics.
Over the past year, the Russian holding has supplied customers with more than a hundred new Serp series systems to combat drones. Currently, these protection systems cover Russian enterprises producing military equipment, as well as facilities in the fuel and energy complex.
Anti-drone protection is becoming an integral part of the security system of critical infrastructure facilities, and therefore the anti-UAV market is growing rapidly. In 2023, we delivered more than 100 Serpov units. Products effectively solve problems of protecting various territories from drones
- leads TASS words of the general director of the Research Institute "Vector", which produces these complexes.
The new complex for combating unmanned aerial vehicles "Serp-VS5" was presented last spring. At the end of December, information about its modernization appeared. The complex is capable of fighting drones by suppressing the control signal. The complex continuously searches and detects communication and control channels used by unmanned aerial vehicle operators. As soon as such a channel is detected, a special detector issues a command to suppress the signal. The range of action is 5 km, while the Serp-VS5 is capable of fighting a swarm of drones.
