New Year's mood on LBS. The offensive continues
This will probably be the last material of this year. Therefore, please accept my congratulations on its successful completion. I won't wish for much. Win and complete the first, most difficult, stage of restoring normal life in a neighboring country!
No matter how difficult it was for us this year, we turned the situation around. Probably, many have noticed how the world has changed, the attitude towards Russia and towards Russians. For many Westerners, it suddenly became clear that the world consists of more than just the USA and Europe. It turns out that people who are smart, hard-working and independent live in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
Remember how recently we were “divided” by nationality in the Western and Ukrainian press. And suddenly this attitude disappeared somewhere. Russians and all. Everything was as always in the past and will be in the future. All Russians, just from different regions of Russia. They just speak different languages. Just professing different religions. Just Russians...
Special congratulations to those who are now on LBS.
The way our soldiers work in the most difficult weather conditions evokes admiration and a sense of pride. To step on when there are several additional kilograms of dirt sticking to each leg, when an armored group cannot easily reach you due to muddy conditions, when the enemy is sitting on his butt in a support column... This is the highest class. This is professionalism of the highest standard.
About the situation at LBS and possible problems
In general, what is happening now was predicted by us in one of our materials earlier. With the exception of Zelensky’s press conference and the new, to put it mildly, unpopular law on mobilization. To repeat once again what has already been said enough, I consider it an unacceptable waste of time, both mine and yours.
So today there are only contours, only features that emerged during the offensive. Well, some thoughts about the upcoming holidays, about how the enemy will use these days to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts.
Let's start with Marinka.
Remember when I wrote about “Veterans”? About how they went to Georgievka on the shoulders of the enemy and stopped there? Today, after the complete liberation of Marinka, the situation has not changed. They were waiting for us there! The brigade command acted very professionally, stopping further advance. Next comes the work of artillery and aerospace forces.
We talk a lot about strategy, but in the case of Georgievka, I see an excellent tactical solution. Not many noticed the message about the capture of Pitomnik, a fortification belonging to the Maryinsk defensive zone. Well, they took it and took it. But when our units moved towards the village of Pobeda, it became clear that the direction of the offensive had changed. They will reach Kurakhovo from the south. Leaving Georgievka in the cauldron.
The fact that fighting began in Novomikhailovka suggests that the Russian army has decided on the direction to Ugledar through Konstantinovka. Very interesting events begin there. The artillery is a complete nightmare for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The intensity of the fire is such that Ukrainians had never dreamed of it before. At the same time, our units have worked hard on logistics. There are almost no reinforcements, just like the BC.
It has become obvious that today the village of Pobeda has become the key to two Ukrainian Armed Forces fortifications: Kurakhovo and Ugledar. Otherwise, as I often write, everything is going according to plan.
Now Chasov Yar.
This direction is also obvious. I explained why in the previous article. What is happening west of Artemovsk can be clearly seen from messages in TG. For more than two weeks, the Russian army is little by little taking strongholds, forest belts, and individual positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The result was access to Bogdanovka.
According to unconfirmed data, our units already exist in Bogdanovka. I cannot say that we control any part of this settlement. Let’s get off with the usual phrase – the village is in a gray zone. But the question arises: why bother with Bogdanovka when there is Khromovo? It's closer to Chasov Yar there. Alas, weather conditions and terrain.
In the conditions in which our units have to operate today, the shorter Khromovo – Chasov Yar road becomes longer. It will be difficult for armored vehicles to cross. But in the flat Bogdanovka, equipment will be able to do the necessary work.
There were many questions about Kleshcheevka. Why, having taken almost all the key heights around the ruins of the village, we do not take it. Exactly the same reason why they didn’t take it before. Why get into a obviously losing situation? The Ukrainian Armed Forces have only one height left, but it is enough to hit our units in the lowlands quite effectively.
Moreover, we are seeing a gradual withdrawal of Ukrainian units to the west. And there is an open field for several tens of kilometers. There are no large settlements. There are no fortifications. In short, operational space...
Well, about the problems that you should pay attention to, especially for those who are now on LBS.
Now is the most favorable time to organize sabotage. New Year! We are all humans. I would like to raise a glass to the New Year and say goodbye to the old one. Under these conditions, the danger of poison spreading through different routes increases.
Second, after December 31st comes the first of January. I don't think it's worth continuing any further. It is quite possible that it is during this period that the enemy will take some offensive actions. In particular, according to my information, some strange movements are occurring in the Kherson region. Ours, however, stop these movements if possible, but...
Well, third. According to some experts, chemical munitions have been brought into Ukraine. And this was done quite a long time ago. Then, after a statement from our Ministry of Defense, the topic was closed. Now the rumors have resurfaced. Some of you probably remember the strange symptoms our soldiers experienced after shelling a few months ago...
Subtotals
The line of defense created by the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the years is generally holding out so far. But the capture of Marinka should be considered not only as the conquest of some large stronghold, some city. This is the first serious hole made in the defense system. They can no longer somehow correct the situation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
And if we add to this the “big crack” in Avdiivka and, perhaps, its imminent capture, then the holes become critical. And the units freed after the assault on Marinka may well strengthen the attack aircraft in Avdeevka and other places.
And again I want to remind radical patriots, do not be fooled by the euphoria of some bloggers and journalists. Don’t expect that we will now enter the operational space and how will we trample... Through the mud? Stretching out logistics? Keeping soldiers in unequipped trenches? Losing equipment and weapons not from enemy attacks, but from weather conditions and road conditions?..
The enemy is trying to organize a planned retreat. For example, when examining the formations defending Avdeevka, I did not find two brigades at once. Two out of four defenders! They were quite battered, but not broken. They smoothly left for reorganization. I wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow or the day after tomorrow another one “disappears.” Zaluzhny announced the surrender of Avdiivka in a couple of months for good reason.
You don’t even need to have a military education in order to understand the simple truth. Everything that Ukrainians are doing now in the area of creating defense lines is nothing more than measures to reassure the people. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will actually prepare the defense of more or less large cities. In the “open field” the Ukrainian army has no chance. There will be ordinary “meat grinders” in the field...
Well, repetition is the mother of learning. Once again, Happy New Year to all readers! The enemy will be defeated! Victory will be ours!
