Memories of the past: new houses and new cats

We will always be responsible for those
who was tamed.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery "The Little Prince"

History and culture. The continuation of the story with cats in a multi-story modern house was connected with my granddaughter. Some time after Pussy's death, she also began to ask for a cat. And... to our great surprise, the cat came to her.

True, not a cat, but a huge gray cat with amber eyes. Came to the window sill on the roof of the store. He sat down, began to look through the glass and ask to go inside. Well, we let him in, and the cat most clearly began to ask for food, was taken to the kitchen and fed, after which he climbed onto the sofa to sleep.

The granddaughter began to bother him, carried him around the rooms in her arms, and he endured all this without scratching or biting. There were no tray problems either. The entire day that the cat stayed with us, he did not experience any urge to “go outside.” But in the evening he jumped on the window, asked to go outside and left.

The amazing cat Barsik has just finished drinking from the tap! Photo by the author

And in the morning he came again and since then he came regularly. We nicknamed him “the visiting cat,” and it was very convenient to have such a cat. The cat, it should be noted, was very strange, he was kind of stupid.

In fact, all my experience with cats suggests that they are “all masters.” If the owner is not smart, then both the cat and the cat will be stupid. It turned out that way this time too.

Naturally, we wanted to find out whose cat it was that was visiting us, and we found out - the cat of our distant relative from the opposite end of the house, who was a fat and stupid woman. She was very surprised that her cat didn’t eat anything at home, but only slept and shit, and “goes somewhere all day, he’s a pest.”

It is very interesting that Barsik, as he was nicknamed for his orange eyes, drank only tap water. And in order to give him something to drink, it was necessary to open the water and let it flow in a thin stream. The cat jumped onto the sink and drank, extending its tongue towards the water.

Hidden in the gap between the books and the top shelf in the bookcase. And a working vacuum cleaner plunged him into mystical horror. Nevertheless, the cat gradually began to get smarter, began to talk to us, show us what he needed and even play with his granddaughter.

And then he suddenly disappeared. He became so wise that... he decided to leave his mistress, jumped from the roof in front of the neighbors and, running across the road, disappeared among the houses opposite. Amazing, isn't it? Apparently, he decided to “find his own path,” and maybe “see the world.” Moreover, none of us saw him again, and his owner soon died. Did he foresee this with his strange cat mind, did he have a presentiment... Who knows?

And here is the cat Barsya in the country and the fog in the distance... Photo by the author

In any case, the granddaughter was again left without a cat.

But, looking out the window onto the street, we noticed a strange thing: every morning a large white-gray cat leaves the house opposite, runs across the road and climbs a spreading tree right in front of our house. He sits there in the fork, but periodically descends to the ground and runs to the Magnit store, where he begs for food on the porch or warm “dressing room.” And people feed her, some will give her half a sausage, some will pour some cat food, and the sellers pour water into her bowl. In the evening she left her roost and again went to the house opposite.

The cat was very beautiful, and we once took her to visit. We fed her and... She slept on our couch all day until evening. So from then on we began to invite her periodically, and then they told us her story.

It turns out that she was born in this very Magnit store, in its basement. But then her mother’s cat was sent to another “Magnit”, where there were rats in the basement. And this cat was taken in by volunteers who lived opposite us, who sterilized her and gave her shelter, but while working with animals, they left home every day at eight in the morning and returned from work at eight in the evening. And the cat spent all her days, even in the cold winter, on the tree, periodically warming up on the threshold of the store.

And so it happened that one morning she came not to the tree, but to our door and... she stayed with us until the evening, and there we carried her in our arms to her owners, since cars were rushing by one after another on the roadway. to others. And there in their house... there was a real mess and a mixture of the stench of wine, tobacco and animals, because, in addition to this cat, two kittens and a puppy lived there! So it became clear to us why, once with us, she sleeps all the time: it was simply impossible for a normal animal to live and sleep in such conditions, and even with a sneaky owner.

"The cat is walking along the path." Photo by the author

Then the owners tell us: if you want to adopt a cat, take it, otherwise we are getting a divorce and moving away. We immediately took her in, and amazingly, she immediately realized that she had changed owners and never ran across the road to them again! But she regularly asked to go outside “to be on duty at the store.” Compassionate old women wailed: “Oh, what a good cat they threw away!”, and the sellers had to explain that no one threw it away, just... “It’s her habit.”

Barsey destroyed the cat, and she began to live in contentment and comfort. But it also took a long time for her to learn to “talk” to us and respond to her name—no one among the volunteers talked to her. She had such a very independent character from life, but she never bit or scratched, and slept on her back with her belly up (here on VO there was already my article about the unified information field of children and animals), which none of our cats had done before, and even Pussy is homely and homely. That is, the impression was: “Oh, they offered me another house, well, it’s good here, and why don’t I stay here. But I’m a cat, I go wherever I please, and I walk on my own!”

And then something happened that made her fall in love with our house and become deeply attached to us. Some compassionate old woman, who did not know her story, took her one evening and took her to her home in one of the nearby high-rise buildings. We were, understandably, very upset; all the surrounding houses were plastered with notices: “Bring back the cat.” And three days later, in the evening, they called us at home from the store and said: “They brought your cat!”

We took our Barsya, and it was as if she had been replaced: she fell in love with the house, became affectionate and sweet, and she ate as if she had been starving all these three days. And then I once overheard a conversation between two grandmothers, and it turned out that it was one of them who took her away, but had to return her, because she hadn’t eaten anything for three days, she even turned up her nose at the liver - “Why should I?” such a capricious cat! And she was just stressed. It turns out that it happens to animals too.

And then she faced another test: we had to go to Spain, but there was no one to leave the cat with. We remembered about the volunteers, and it turned out that the man opposite was still living there, had stopped drinking, “became a different person” and would gladly take Barsya for two weeks.

We carried her, provided her with food, a tray - everything was done honorably. And two weeks later we arrive, and Barsya is again sitting in the fork of the “cat tree”, fortunately this happens in the summer. She saw us, rushed as fast as she could, and the neighbors tell us that this has been going on for a long time. I went to see the volunteer, and he was completely drunk. He stopped being a “different person”, he got tired, apparently, and the cat... “ran away from him.”

You always try to believe people, to see the good in them, but some are still such crap that there’s nowhere else to go, how can the earth carry them like that? And there are quite a few of them, by no means. Only in the vicinity of my house there are 5-6 people who already get together in the morning and figure out where they can have a drink. And they all have wives and children... These are simply wonderful role models!

Well, this is an involuntary digression along the way. The main thing is that nothing happened to Barsia, and now she lives only in our house and in the country. He doesn’t go anywhere, but admires his cat tree out the window. I learned to do “my business” in a completely empty tray - a container for seedlings! He comes, scratches at it with his paws and... that's it! And then – meow-meow – “take it away.” Or before that – purr-murr – “I want.” He comes and calls to his tray. Like, I’ll go now, and you clean it up. Therefore, the house is clean and there are no problems. I don't like trays with filler. A friend of mine has one, and half the hallway is covered with it. So their cat digs in it well. And they have to sweep it regularly.

And she also eats mice and grass at the dacha! Photo by the author

At the dacha, Barsya only walks around our site and the site of our neighbor, who also greets her. In other areas - no, no, although it happens that he sits on the border and watches what is happening there. But it’s as if he understands that this tightly stretched wire (what a barrier it would seem for a cat?!) is the line beyond which she is not allowed to go.

She also does not go to her neighbors who have a dog, even when neither they nor the dog are at the dacha. At the dacha she catches mice! Oh, how many of them she caught and ate, leaving only the intestines and tails. And this is how she manages to “separate” them like this, because she has neither a knife nor a fork.

Not every cat gets to be in the book. But the cat Barsya ended up in the book! But, unfortunately, she herself doesn’t know about it.

In general, our Barsya has become a real member of our family, surprisingly good-natured and very flexible. I thought, and wrote a book about her life and adventures. And this book was included in the top of the best electronic publications of some year, dedicated to animals in general and cats in particular. It is available both in electronic and paper form. To order.

So the fate of feline animals has changed dramatically over the past half century. In the 50-60s of the last century, the attitude towards them was purely consumerist. “A cat is a cat, damn it!”, and it, that is, this attitude, continued for a very long time, until the early 90s.

Well, then it began to change dramatically, and cats gradually turned into “pets”, and children play with cats in their yards, but no one throws stones at them for a long time...

Friends asked me to bring a cat. They handed over the money, the breeders the documents, and the cat Monya (full name is the devil's fault). About 8 months later I found out that the owners asked for sterilization of their Monya, but had to be castrated. Fortunately, the name is universal, and so Money remained. laughing

I'm telling a story. My dogs (West "Clinton" and Yorchik "Tigris") love to sniff with cats, although not all of them like it. Then one evening they hooked up with one cat. I find out his name from the owners. His name is "Bummer"! What kind of mockery?
Same story. They took the cat, and then after a while, suddenly a wiener “appeared.” What should I do? Changed the name. They called it this epithet. He has adopted a new name and always responds to "Bummer".

Four domestic cats. Two households by birthright at home. Two have been selected. One was taken from the arsenal of the Black Sea Fleet. second on the market. . In addition to our cats, one comes for humanitarian aid and we feed two. The owners have died, the house is almost abandoned, two cats continue to look after the house. And of course, hello to your cats from mine! Adopted children in the photo.

        Right!
The article was on VO. About the dominance of rats and mice in the front-line zone. But there are few cats, there aren’t enough of them, and in the comments I told you how to make traps from scrap material, such that you can catch rats and mice in whole batches. But a cat at the front is warmth and comfort, a reminder of your home, for which you are fighting at the LBS. Fighters are not robots, they are people. When the Kakhovka Dam was blown up, many videos appeared about how soldiers rushed to save dogs and cats from flooded houses on the left bank of the Dnieper.

Not really. It’s just that in the Kuban, where my mother was from, they used such a word - “candibober”, meaning a proud, unapproachable person, maybe even showing off... Kandeichka was always like that - proud.

After the death of the cat Sonya... my soul does not lie.

And such a case happened to us.
We have 2 cats and 1 kitten in our family, the first to appear was the Scottish Fold Masya, then the Maine Coon Jonya (according to the pedigrees, you can’t pronounce it) and then the yard dog Pepka came along (he still doesn’t meow, but beeps). Two years ago Masya left us, I buried him on the shore of the lake. And in November, my wife and I returned from a trip, and two meters from our Masya’s grave, there lies a gray lump, the reincarnation of our Masyanya - a Scottish Fold. Extremely hungry, the veterinarian said that he had never seen such skinny cats, just bones and skin, but a purebred cat.
Now we have three tails running around the house again.

Well, lastly, we are all “writers” not here, not there, and not about that, in fact, we are only readers, and only a few write for us. Quality VO Authors can be listed on the fingers of one hand.

“If you don’t like cats, write, publish, we’ll appreciate it!”
I was always surprised by such statements from serious and adult people.
If you follow this logic, then any criticism is meaningless. For example, a citizen comes to a cafe, takes a bite of borscht and a cutlet and, when paying, tells the waiter that the soup is too salty and the cutlet is undercooked. And the waiter answered him - Don’t like him?!?! Please go to the kitchen and prepare the dish yourself, if you are so smart!
Or another thing - a man watched a film about the adventures of cats and dogs, he didn’t like the film and the man expressed his incorrect opinion ( tongue ) opinion. In response, the director angrily answers the careless citizen: “If you’re so picky, write a script, hire actors and shoot masterpieces.”
Also, officials can justify their creativity - “If you don’t like the work of our ministry, fix the water supply and asphalt yourself. Let’s see how you can do it.”
I understand perfectly well your good attitude towards Vyacheslav Olegovich. But personally, I don’t want this resource to be turned into an online branch of the “Peasant” magazine.

According to the article: did the person who called the cat "Pussy" know - American slang...?

In English this is “cat”, why do we need Americanisms of bad Americans?
There is also “pusi” - a flower, “pusiket” - a cat.

Americanisms of bad Americans allow us to expose their agents of influence, like the group Pussy Riot (whose activities are banned in the Russian Federation).
They also help to understand the meaning of the Rammstein song.

And stern men, military people feed them, do not offend them, treat them, take care of them.. Why am I doing this? Moreover, in these very difficult times there should be an outlet for the soul.. They play with them, feed them. And prisoners also work in the kitchen, in the workshops, and as drivers... The prison is a huge production plant that generates huge profits. Cats are amazing creatures. By the way, as was shown in one program on UkrTV even before the events, cats remove negativity, and dogs give positivity. He himself has dogs and cats on the farm. The unit also had its own cats... And I noticed long ago that these were very unusual creatures. My regiment was transferred to another place, my commander’s cat fed from a garbage dump, ate, sat and then went to his native garbage dump….. Healthy and beautiful. When they started packing things, he ran in, looked... and went to sit on the toilet! He showed what he can do, after that there’s no way to take him away. And I had an amazing story. My mother-in-law is already old, she was lying mostly in the room, she had a second stroke…. She had cats, but they weren’t particularly welcome in the house, and she didn’t hang around with them! But Jack came almost every morning, she would pet him, and he would sleep on another sofa. The mother-in-law left, everything was going on, the cat was kicked out into the street... After a while the cat came... I don’t even know, the cat came, but it wasn’t him! He carefully walked around the house, looked into all the corners, checking the cleanliness and stared at me with a look that was not his own! The mother-in-law was watching (the kingdom of heaven), she is a good woman and a hard worker, the cat did not give in to her hands, she would lie down and watch... The inspector! This went on for about a week, in the end I couldn’t stand it, I turned to my “mother-in-law,” Tatyana Dmitrievna, stop here..., your house is under control and everything in the household you see for yourself (but please plant a vegetable garden with potatoes!) is normal, everything is fine with your wife! And the cat Valet left, disappeared, he was 6-7 years old, we never saw him again! I wouldn't believe it myself!

After leaving military service, we lived for some time in the north (Murmansk region) while waiting for a warrant for an apartment.
The village was small, the contingent was mostly temporary. They left for the “mainland” and for various reasons left (abandoned) their pets. I don’t remember how, but a huge black cat came to us. How did you get there? I just ran into the apartment and we decided to keep it.
The cat flatly refused to wash himself. He growled threateningly and showed with all his appearance that he was “at odds” with water procedures.
He received a name corresponding to his color and political situation - “Chernomyrdin”, in simple terms - “Chernysh”.
The cat was neutered (someone took care of it) and it was clear that he lived with someone in the family. In this regard, one “embarrassment” occurred. A friend asked him to stay for a while. As it turned out, for my cat. It’s clear that Chernysh was first fed, and then the cat was allowed in with him. I myself was not present, but Dimka realized later that something was wrong with the cat, because Murka, showing her preferences with all her appearance, walked around and around her partner, and he simply lay down on the floor and silently watched her “pa” . When Dimka told me about this, I laughed for a long time and told him that the cat was neutered and that he should have immediately said where and to whom he was taking him “to visit.”
Chernysh walked around the apartment with his tail held high. Never meowed even once. He simply opened the “pastry” slightly, imitating meowing. In all four years he did not shit in the apartment even once. If he had to run errands, he would simply sit at the front door and wait to be noticed. Sometimes I could scratch the door a little.
The son played a game with him, rolling a ball into the cat’s open paws, and Chernysh hit the ball.
The cat was independent. He could have just gone to hunt cormorants and then come back. This is exactly how we noticed him the first time, when he caught (lifted) a bird.
There were few dogs in the village. Apparently these were his friends, so Chernysh was not afraid of them. He could accompany me to the store (luckily the road was not long) and wait until I made my purchases, sitting on the blind area.
When we released him, he could go away for a day. He returned (usually from the basement) to the call: “kitty-kitty-kitty.”
Before leaving, Chernysh began to come less often and soon his neighbors took him, to whom he also simply ran through the open door. We were glad that he had made up his mind, because we were all wondering how to transport him on the train (we wanted to leave him, take him with us).
This was the cat that brought joy and peace.

But cats actually took part in hostilities. During World War I, about 500 domestic cats were sent into the army, which were used to control rodents in trenches and, unfortunately, as “indicators” of toxic substances.

Just yesterday I came across a video on one of the military telegrams.
A gloomy, impenetrable sky, impassable mud on endless fields and a lonely tank with a worn, barely visible letter “Z”. On the tank is a fighter and a small shaggy dog covered in mud. The tank stops. The dog, knowing what is about to happen, jumps to the ground and runs away. Shot! The tank quickly takes off, because its position is already illuminated by the enemy, and rushes to the next position, the dog runs alongside as fast as it can. The tank stops, the dog jumps onto the armor, towards the fighter. Then everything repeats itself - the endless wet, chilly steppe, the inhospitable sky, loneliness and the dog as a link to a world where it is warm.
        You know, it pinched.

So the dog. And cats are good everywhere. And sociable, they know how to negotiate. The youngest son goes with his family to Crimea for the summer, where his father-in-law and mother-in-law have a house. They travel with their small dog, a Papinion. This dog began to chase local cats, each one at a time, but this did not last long. One day he went out the gate, where three cats were already waiting for him. Seeing this, the dog yelped quietly and did not go outside the gate again. After all, somehow the cats agreed to tame the impudent dog!

Not just cats. Once I watched small falcons (falcons) hunt swifts. The falcons approached the swift from both sides at the same time, and this one began to twitch back and forth like a pedestrian on the roadway, as a result they clawed it and flew off to dinner. This is where people ask questions, like, what do articles about cats have to do with the VO website? Or dogs, for example?
Well, then let's talk about cooking recipes or cutting and sewing courses.
In fact, even before SVO, there were articles about food on VO, and even Roman Skomorokhov appeared as an author (by the way, people are wondering where Roma went). There were several articles and mostly about how to eat in the event of military force majeure and the corresponding one in everyday life. I remembered that you need to steam the pine needles - the pine needles contain vitamins, but there was also a lot of useful information about what can serve as pasture so as not to die of hunger. And now recipes are being circulated online on how to properly cut and dry borscht and soup dressings in the oven so that, with the help of volunteers, they can be sent to soldiers at the front.
As for cutting and sewing courses, the whole country sews camouflage nets and robes for soldiers—you also need to know how. Schoolchildren sew, volunteers sew! Because military operations are carried out by people who need to eat and have camouflage. What about the construction business? In order for a dugout, a trench and a dugout to be reliable shelters not only from bullets, but also from cluster shells, or at least reduce their damaging effect, you need to be able to build them correctly. So no topic is left out, everything is in it.
And about dogs... After all, they serve at the front - they warn about mines! And together with the cats they remind us of our father’s house.
This is if it is very short.

You haven't seen the African black-footed cat yet! The cutest, absolutely domestic-looking animal. Outwardly, it differs from pets only in that it has wide black transverse stripes on its front legs. And at the same time, of all the cats, including lions, cheetahs, tigers, jungle cats, manula cats, and others, it is the most effective killer! For those listed, the “useful” hunting yield is 20%, for the black-footed cat it is 80%. A fierce fighter, he attacks everyone, even the largest ones, including humans, there is practically no escape. Such a lovely killer.

Well, I don’t know about their efficiency; at my sister’s in Crimea, Kuzka destroyed mice with an efficiency of 98%. Who calculated the effectiveness of cats in the wild - I don’t know, I’m wary of numbers, as well as the speed figures they develop, especially fish - well, how did they measure the speed of a marlin? And I always photograph cats everywhere, no matter where I am on the planet - I’ve been in Japan, Spain, Cuba, Italy, Greece - everywhere the cats are the same, like our Murka and Vaska. They are especially respected in the east and in Greece.

I don’t know who considered the effectiveness of felines in the wild

Specialists. Professionals. They receive grants, buy the necessary equipment, go into the wild and, using camouflage techniques that have been developed for a century, or perhaps over a longer period of time, for years they study the behavior of a species, or even one specific animal, and even give it a name. And then they write large articles in thick magazines, developing material for a dissertation, and publish countless videos on the Internet.

But the most interesting thing is different.
Pets, living together with humans, have learned to manipulate them. And even, belonging to different species, to each other.
Here's a dog barking at the neighbor's cat. He doesn't pay attention. But then the cat got tired of all this, he reared up and nibbled. The dog, squealing, rushed to the owner for protection, and, what do you think, defiantly clasping the paw that was supposedly bitten by the cat and therefore moving absurdly in threes (here, they say, is how I suffered from an evil cat, and you, owner, punish him!) .
Or a similar case, but with a cat. Having walked, he approaches the glass outer door, meowing pitifully so that they will hear, and limping strongly on his front paw, so that they would quickly open the door for him, the unfortunate man, and take pity on him. But as soon as the owner opened the door, where did the lameness go? Immediately the cat, with the imposing gait of a healthy individual, went to its feeding trough.
And there are countless episodes of cats, sitting on a table or shelf, throwing various objects off them and looking at the reaction of their owners. Often causing significant damage. There is a video in which one of the owners could not stand it, took a toy cat, threw something off the table with its paw and hit it with his palm on a soft spot. The real cat, having watched the execution, thought and with his paw pushed the bottle he had prepared for discarding away from the edge of the table...
This is what they are, our pets!)))

even one specific animal, they even give it a name.
This is the speed of its movement that they recognize, one and only copy. How's the speed of the fish? But we are talking about cats, and here, of course, everything is interesting. Cats know how to adapt to their owner and even manipulate him to some extent, this is true. Depends on both the cat and the owner.

I am not a cat fanatic, although the cat has been living in my apartment for the 15th year. I treat this cat as just a cat, without fanaticism or hot feelings. But I have always been interested in the origins of such human love for cats. I once undertook to study the origins of such human love for cats and cats. Everything turned out to be not as simple as at first glance. As it turned out, the cat is a carrier of a special type of biological weapon. Most cats are infected with a parasite called TOXOCARA. In the wild, the toxacara is an auxiliary weapon for cat hunting. The house gray mouse or other small rodent avoids the smell and sight of cats. But as soon as toxacara enters the body of a mouse or rodent, the behavior of the rodent changes radically. The rodent ceases to be afraid of cats; moreover, the rodent begins to love cats. Once in the blood of a rodent, toxacara reaches the brain and radically changes the behavior of mice and rats. The mouse stops being afraid of the cat and even runs to meet the cat to hug the cat like a brother. It’s not for me to tell you how such meetings end. Once in the human blood, txakara also reach the brain and develop in the human brain a feeling of boundless love for cats. Women's brains are less resistant to the effects of toxacara. Hence the stories about how a pensioner sheltered 200 cats in her apartment, and when the granny died, the cats partially ate her. No one has thoroughly studied the effects of toxacara on the human brain. The most intrepid researchers report that toxacara provokes early stroke in humans. All other research is blocked by manufacturers of cat food and cat products. Yes, yes, we have millions of people homeless and dying of hunger, but the cat industry is on the rise. I mean keep your children and grandchildren away from cats and cats. And it’s easy to see carriers of toxacara even in this discussion for this article.

And it’s easy to see carriers of toxacara even in this discussion for this article.

This phenomenon is known, called toxoplasmosis. Who can stop a person from communicating with cats? However, surprisingly, toxoplasmosis has not been found in wild breeds of cats. But how lions, tigers, panthers, and others adore a person, and, moreover, mutually - this must be seen, words cannot express it! )))
And without any toxoplasmosis, dogs are attached to humans. And this is also mutual.

I agree that dogs become attached to humans. But dogs and humans have a completely different relationship. There are cases when the owner died of illness, and the dog sat in the apartment and literally died of hunger. It's different with cats. The cat is always on its own. About five years ago they wrote in Komsomolskaya Pravda how an old woman in Miass set up a shelter for cats in her apartment. Due to unsanitary conditions, the old woman did not communicate with her neighbors. The neighbors sounded the alarm when the grandmother completely disappeared and there was a cadaverous smell coming from under the grandmother’s door. The Ministry of Emergency Situations knocked down the doors. It turned out that the grandmother was lying lifeless on the sofa in the living room and the cats had gnawed her nose, ears and fingers. But most of all, pathologists were concerned that the cats ate the grandmother’s brain. It turned out that the cats first ate the owner’s eyes, and then they stuck their paws into the eye sockets and took out the brain in pieces. This technology is like in that fairy tale where the cat ate sour cream from a jug. I mean that cats, unlike dogs, are ungrateful and selfish creatures.

The human body is an alien environment for toxacara, so laboratory analysis detects the parasite only in the initial stage of the disease. When the parasite has settled in the nooks and crannies of the brain, only a pathologist can detect the parasite.

In my entire life I have never taken a cat anywhere on purpose! They came themselves! One day in the fall, I was sitting in the car, the door was open, it was pouring rain, it was closer to zero outside, and here he came, little, his eyes had not yet opened, he climbed onto my lap and fell asleep! I had to take it, where the hell go! The cat grew up, a beautiful black one with white gray... astrakhan fur wassat ...later I found out that he was a cross between a sphinx and a yard servant! In the summer he went bald... in the fall with black and gray astrakhan fur! Really frozen sad ...in March I went to get the cats and only found them in the attic in April! Now the urchik lives, his sister gave him away, his son has allergies! Smart little devil... I don’t keep trays at home, he asks to go outside if he can’t stand it at work until I get there

For those who believe in laboratory tests for toxoplasmosis, I will give some food for thought. This parasite has been known and studied for a long time. During Soviet times, Odessa was the largest center for the study of human eye diseases. When a patient’s human eye grew to the size of an apple, the center diagnosed eye cancer and simply amputated the eye. The amputated eyes were kept as a textbook for students. Already in modern times, with the advent of electron microscopes, they began to study eyes amputated many years ago. Toxoplasma was found in many eyes. No one reports whether taxoplasmas were the cause of the growth of the eye or whether this was a consequence of the growth.

After this comment of yours, the entire forum appeared in a different light, the topic sounded differently)))
But... you know what? Man is part of living nature and is not able to isolate himself from it completely. In addition, it is unknown what will cause more losses - complete isolation, when animals are viewed only through glass, or full contact, when cats and dogs sleep in the same bed. This is the very case when a person chooses his own destiny, following his spiritual destiny.

I never manipulate. I express my opinion. I am against the complete isolation of animals. But descending to a bestial state and sleeping with animals in bed is too much. Peasants never slept with their favorite horses in the stable or with their favorite pigs in the pigsty. But modern people don’t see it as shameful to drag a cat under a blanket. And then we are surprised when a cheerful old man at 70 years old has complete dementia or has one eye the size of an apple. And people who keep their distance from cats live up to 95 years.

Should we believe British scientists and British propaganda? To listen to them, Churchill smoked cigars and drank cognac until his last day. And here he also slept with cats. I wouldn’t be surprised if tomorrow the British tell us that Churchill became the father of beautiful children in his last year. I advise you to look up to your own grandparents and not to the mythical Churchills.

Mythical actions are often attributed to famous personalities and there is no way to verify this writing. I read about Churchill that until his last days he smoked a cigar and drank 150 grams of Armenian cognac a day. I now understand that in those years, Armenian cognac was a little-known drink in England. And even now, not everyone in Europe knows about the existence of Armenian cognac. Moreover, for several years now only the drink produced in the French city of Cognac has been called cognac. I don’t think that Churchill, given his wealth, would have drunk the little-known drink.

Having communicated for most of my, alas, already long life, with all kinds of animals, I am inclined to highly evaluate the intelligence of domestic animals living in the family.
It’s just that, in my deep conviction, in people (not in everyone, of course), the rational part prevails over the reflexive part, incl. instinctive, but in animals it’s the opposite.
