The Russian Ministry of Defense showed footage of the operation of the Tornado-G MLRS with an anti-drone visor

The military conflict in Ukraine led to revisions in the strategy and tactics of modern large-scale battles. One of the most serious innovations has been the massive use of unmanned aerial vehicles, both for reconnaissance purposes and for strikes.

At the same time, means of defense against air attacks began to appear, including those previously considered at least exotic. Already in the first months after the start of the special operation, metal anti-drone visors, made by hand, increasingly began to appear on armored vehicles of both the Russian Armed Forces and the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This summer, at the Army-2023 forum, various samples of anti-drone protection for armored vehicles, developed by engineers of Russian defense enterprises, were presented. In turn, the Russian Ministry of Defense has issued guidelines for equipping armored vehicles with these protective equipment.

A few days ago, the Russian military department showed footage of the 2A65 Msta-B towed howitzer with additional shield protection for the upper part of the gun, protecting the crew from frontal air attacks drones-kamikaze.

This time, the Russian Ministry of Defense posted on its official accounts a video of a combat mission being carried out by a crew of the Tornado-G MLRS of the West group of troops in the Kupyansk direction.

The footage shows that the hood and cabin of the car are covered with a frame with a metal mesh. The same protection is installed above the launcher. Judging by the video, the anti-drone protection is homemade, the structure is welded to the body with metal corners.

It is obvious that the ingenuity and ingenuity of soldiers on the front line are rarely a useless figment of the imagination, no matter what some experts continue to say about the effectiveness and feasibility of installing such protection against UAVs. Moreover, judging by the video, two different MLRS are shown, since their cockpit and hood protection designs are different. On one machine the front part of the anti-drone frame is installed at an angle, on the second it is horizontal. We can say that the invention not only “went into production”, but is also being modified.

⚡There are some features in the mobilization figure declared by Gnida of 500 thousand. Let's do the math:

    1. Population. Let’s assume that there are now up to 20 million in Khutor.
    2. Since in 2022 mostly young men/women with/without children rushed abroad (and are still running abroad), I’ll put it that 60% of today’s herd are old people over 60. That leaves <8 million.
    3. Since >1 million ukrov were disposed of and hundreds of thousands became disabled, and rushed abroad to the main. the most penetrating, then from the base of <8 million I will assume ~5 million women.
    4. <3 million remained. No matter how life in the rear was destroyed, for its simple existence we need: officials, police, judges, SBU prosecutors, military commissars, border guards, etc. Ministry of Emergency Situations supporting the operation of power systems of water/gas sewerage pipelines of road bridges. Drivers of buses, trucks, trains... Military logistics/repair. And the remains of industry and agriculture must work.
    5. So those 500 thousand are “the last of the Mohicans.”
Next - run to the Polish border.
And those who are motivated have been at the front for a long time and are mostly processed into minced meat.

Well, you calculated it correctly, I think there is a reserve.
Out of 45 million, a maximum of 10 left, and even then...
      Therefore there is a reserve.

    Morning monitoring.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces again “shot down all the Geraniums.”
In Kherson they shot down a train with Western equipment and ammunition (several dozen Ukrainian Armed Forces and mercenaries helped shoot down, now they are resting in a harem near Bandera). As well as the railway administration building.
It's even more interesting in Odessa. They were shot down by a warehouse terminal in the village. Nerubayskoe (NATI) where the Armed Forces of Ukraine stored the rear and ammunition in ATB warehouses. In total, the fire covered 37 thousand square meters. meters. Now 70 people are involved in extinguishing.
The same story in the village. Kotovsky where NATO equipment was stationed.

We continue to shoot down. Let's not get distracted.

Having installed the visors is already a victory. And if the driver sticks icons on the panel, there will be fire.

Actually, these mesh visors are from FPV drones - small quadcopters with a grenade from an RPG-7, as well as from FOGs dropped "by the collar". At the front, the guys know better how to protect themselves from such rubbish. And there are plenty of shots of drones of all kinds stuck in such nets and bars.

Why not? Even in the last war, their inventors met:

The photo shows not a “Tornado-G”, but a regular “Grad”, but the protection of the upper hemisphere is valid. bully

No, it looks like Tornado-G, they are similar.
They just equip the hike differently, it’s even difficult to say which is better for the Tornado-G.

Find images of both installations on the Internet, take a closer look at the packages of guides, and see the difference. wink
