A Patriot battery at the junction of the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions was destroyed by a hypersonic Kinzhal strike the day before.
Some details are emerging of yesterday’s strike by the Russian Armed Forces, carried out by hypersonic “Daggers” on targets in enemy-controlled territory. Let us recall that at first the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that they were not going to say anything about whether the Russian missiles hit their targets or not. As Ignat, the speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, put it, “let (the Russians) draw their own conclusions whether they hit it or not.” After some time, he also stated that the Ukrainian air defense “shot down one Kinzhal.” Now the very details appear - how exactly the “Dagger” was “shot down”.
It became known that during the transportation of the second battery of the Patriot air defense system from Germany, it was destroyed at the junction of the Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions. As a result, several launchers, a radar and a command vehicle were destroyed - all from the complex. Several dozen expensive missiles worth millions of dollars were also destroyed.
Thus, it turns out that if the Russian “Dagger” was “destroyed,” it was by the method of physical destruction of the “destroyer” itself...
Let us recall that earlier in Germany they announced the transfer of the second battery of American Patriot complexes to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, at the same time turning to the United States with a request for the supply of new air defense systems to replace those delivered to Ukraine. Kiev continues to say that they need more air defense systems, including to protect energy facilities.
