A remote control module for the PKT tank machine gun has been developed in Russia. The platform was developed at the request of soldiers taking part in a special military operation. This was reported by the press service of Rostec.
The Stavropol Signal plant has developed a special remote control platform tank PKT machine gun of 7,62 mm caliber. As stated at the enterprise, the request for the creation of such a module came directly from the North Military District zone; such a request was made by soldiers fighting in one of the directions. The entire process, from receiving the technical specifications to creating the first sample module, took only two months. The military, who ordered the development of the product, took part in the design and testing of the product.
Specialists of the Stavropol Signal plant, a subsidiary of KRET, at the direct request of Russian soldiers from the Northern Military District zone, made remote control platforms for the PKT tank machine gun

The developed platform is equipped with a high-resolution camera with stabilization in two planes and 30x zoom. It is possible to install a thermal imager and a “night light”. The module is controlled using a joystick and an LCD monitor. In this case, the operator can be located at a distance of up to one kilometer from the machine gun installation. Other development details have not been disclosed. It is noted that, at the customer’s request, this module can be designed in the form of a case.
The module has already been tested by the troops, four products have been delivered to the Northern Military District zone, and five more will be transferred to the military by the end of the year.
