Kfir: the IDF's youngest and largest infantry brigade, specializing in urban combat

Against the backdrop of regular statements by the IDF command about the preparation of a ground operation in Gaza, many experts question whether the Israel Defense Forces are capable of operating effectively in the specific conditions of urban battles.

It is worth noting that the IDF has a special infantry unit “tailored” specifically to perform such a task.

Kfir is one of five infantry brigades of the Israel Defense Forces, subordinate to the IDF central command. The brigade is the youngest, as it was created in 2005. At the same time, the unit’s fighters specialize in the most difficult areas, being responsible for conducting urban battles and guerrilla warfare.

Kfir battalions are deployed near every major Palestinian city, both in the south and in the north of Israel. The brigade's soldiers regularly carry out complex operations that require highly qualified soldiers.

Kfir recruits undergo eight months of combat training before joining the unit. For the first four months, future fighters undergo a basic course, including physical training, discipline and mastery of various types of weapons. The second half of the training is devoted to specialized skills, such as urban combat tactics, mastering the control of armored vehicles, using chemical protective equipment, etc.

In addition, the unit's soldiers take Arabic language courses, which further enable them to communicate with Palestinians. After all, their activities are often associated with direct contact with the local population.

Kfir soldiers wear camouflage berets and red boots. The brigade consists of five battalions.

In 2020, the IDF command decided to gradually transform Kfir into a full-fledged army brigade, like airborne troops. As a result of the transformation, the unit will be replenished with personnel, receive additional weapons, and its fighters will undergo extended training.

Probably, in the ground operation in Gaza, if one does take place, the above-mentioned brigade will play one of the key roles.

So this “Red Moccasin brigade” is useless if you send competent instructors to the Palestinians.
Even the Americans will confirm this, well, those who remember Vietnam.

Gaza is not Vietnam, it is all the size of the Novomoskovsky district of Moscow. And I remember we sent instructors to the Arabs in droves, and not to the slippers of Gaza, but to the regulars of Syria and Egypt, did it help?

Oh, we have a big friend of bearded Islamists here? Do they even accept you as one of their own? Or was the eunuch promised a place in the harem?

Why immediately bearded Islamists, according to the laws of double standards, for some they could be rebels, fighters for freedom and independence, partisans. For example, Chechen Islamist terrorists were precisely fighters for independence, for the “civilized West”. For some reason they mentioned the eunuch, do you have problems with that?

Another light infantry brigade, only tailored for urban battles. By the way, I didn’t notice the red shoes, they were ordinary brown ones. Such light infantry, for the war with scantily clad Palestinians. Well done among the sheep, so to speak.

Yes, we’re already tired of updating and buying popcorn. Let's go counter-grunting already. For now there are only words.

, but did it help the regulars of Syria and Egypt?

    It's not about the instructors.
Now Israel is calmly striking the runway of Damascus airport.
But neither our air defenses with Khmeinim, nor the Syrian ones are even trying to repel the attack.

Well, you can’t touch the Zionists without a command from above.
Preparation has nothing to do with it.

Have you ever thought that they simply cannot fight it off? Israel and Syria are officially at war, what kind of team is still needed?

And how many people are there? 1000 maybe 2000 people?
Are they naive and really believe that they will do something in a city of millions?
    Welcome..

Well, if the shoes are red, then of course. Hamas runs, losing its slippers. What color are the socks of these “dungeon heroes”?

The author is simply not aware of the customs of the Israeli army. Brown boots are worn in combat units, and black boots in auxiliary units. But the shoes are brown, not red. Perhaps the author has slight color blindness. Something like a vest for the Airborne Forces and Marines in the Russian army. And on his head is not a camouflage beret, but a mitznefet. Something like a bag worn over a helmet that blurs the contours of the sniper’s head and at the same time gives a shadow on the neck.

"Brown boots are worn in combat units, and black ones in auxiliary units" ///
        ---
Not quite like that: the paratrooper brigade and the airborne battalion of the Nahal brigade have brown boots.
The Golani and Givati brigades have black boots. And they are not auxiliary, but main - shock - infantry units.
Brown ones are “more prestigious” or something :))).
Once in the reservist service, the company commander gave me brown boots as a “badge of rank,” although I had never jumped from a parachute in my life.

That's for sure! The paradox is at war with Muslims, especially with Arabs.
Their regular armies are traditionally so-so or complete bullshit, no matter how many instructors you send. A typical example - no matter how much the USSR at one time trained the Egyptian army (and the Syrian too), stuffed them with modern equipment - defeat after defeat, they only reinforced the Israelis with their abandoned trophies (especially Soviet tanks). I believe that something is wrong with the officers, and the mobilized peaceful fellahs respond to the traditional “at-two!” are being behaved poorly. They don’t understand - why the hell do they need all this...

But there was a time (starting from the 11th century) when the Arab cavalry captured almost all of Italy, all of Spain, crossed the Pyrenees and advanced to Paris (they stopped halfway, the Battle of Poitiers - 723). They crossed the Caucasus, they were seen on the Don... The global caliphate was real.
    https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D0%90%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B1%D1%81%D0%BA%D0%B8%D0%B5_%D0%B7%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%B5%D0%B2%D0%B0%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F

Now Arab guerrilla operations, especially in cities, are progressing year by year. Hamas (disparagingly - “slippers”) generally learned this - the over-praised IDF still cannot come to its senses, they are looking for traitors among their own... Without the Americans, they do not dare to respond (instead of a ground operation, they take it out on civilians in Gaza). They were sent two aircraft carriers - still not enough against the "slippers" ...

Why this is so is not very clear. Perhaps the Hamas people and others like them have a different motivation...

In short: the theory of the “gradual pacification of Gaza” dominated at the top of the intelligence and army.
Hamas assented, sang along - and deceived.
A military trick used personally by the Prophet Muhammad (according to the Koran).
