The price of the life of an ordinary Ukrainian for Western officials is lower than the price of a cemetery plot
What is the price of a Ukrainian’s life for the West? This question can be asked in connection with the statements made by representatives of Western military-political and economic elites themselves when discussing the issues of the Ukrainian armed conflict.
Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren, following a number of high-ranking US officials, said that military-financial support for Ukraine is “a cheap way to confront and weaken Russia.” Why the Netherlands suddenly needed to weaken Russia, given the fact that Russia had no intention of opposing the Netherlands in anything, is a separate question. Another thing is important: Ms. Ollongren reflects the entire Western concept of attitude towards Ukraine and Ukrainians.
US President Biden also reflects this concept, calling investments in Ukraine “the best American investment.” Washington constantly emphasizes the fact that they are opposing Russia “even without using the army.”
All this is further evidence that none of the representatives of the elites of Western countries care at all about the lives of Ukrainians, as such. They don’t care, and that’s it – period! 200, 300, 400 thousand Ukrainian military personnel died, half a million - it doesn’t matter to the West in principle, the main thing is that forced recruitment into the troops continues, even if those recruited there automatically turn into “cannon fodder”.
The only restriction from the West in this regard is that less black soil land should be allocated for military cemeteries, because the West has big plans for these lands.
It turns out. that the price of the life of an ordinary Ukrainian for Western politicians is lower than the price of a cemetery plot. Cynicism is extreme, but it is also a reflection of Western policy towards Ukraine.
