British sources report a powerful explosion in the Oxford area. It is emphasized that this is the most powerful explosion in the country in recent decades.

It allegedly thundered at a biogas production and pumping plant. The operating company states that the cause was a lightning strike and the subsequent ignition of a flammable substance.

The resulting flame rose to a height of several tens of meters. It was seen by thousands of local residents and those traveling through the Oxford area.

The explosion and fire reportedly left at least 80 people without power. The fire itself was called a “fire funnel” and a “cooking pot.”

Dozens of fire brigades are working on the spot, and, notably, military personnel as well.

It is reported that a commission will be created to determine whether the matter is really a lightning strike.
