Political scientist: The West has never been able to understand the component that could break Russia
The fact that the so-called collective West never planned to cooperate closely with Russia and exist with our country on equal terms has become more than obvious today. Meanwhile, after the collapse of the USSR, many post-Soviet republics, including the Russian Federation, rushed to the West.
Political scientist, candidate of psychological sciences Anatoly Nikiforov spoke in an interview with the BelTA TV channel about what the United States planned for our country and why they failed.
According to the expert, the West could accept Russia into its ranks. But only nominally. We would always be in the second, or even third, position, always at the “tail” of the queue after the closest allies of the United States.
At the same time, Russia would become a “raw materials appendage” for the States, supplying that same “golden billion” with cheap resources.
As a matter of fact, according to Nikiforov, everything was going that way. But the situation changed when Vladimir Putin came to power. It was then that Russia embarked on its own path of development. At the same time, the United States activated all available means and entered into a fight with us.
At the same time, according to the expert, the Americans had enough funds. After all, during the difficult years for our country in the 90s, they managed to “introduce” their people into the most important areas for Russia.
However, as the political scientist put it, this did not help the States. The thing is that the West is ruled by pragmatists who use what they think are the most effective levers.
As a result, they began to put pressure economically, politically and, ultimately, militarily, using Ukraine as a battering ram.
At the same time, according to Nikiforov, among the embedded analysts who are still in our NGOs, there are no ones who really understand the psychology, culture and values of the Slavs. Our thinking is very different from Western thinking due to our moral beliefs and spiritual values. We are not rationalists or pragmatists who are ready to overstep our beliefs for the sake of results.
As a result, fortunately for us, over the many years since the collapse of the USSR, the West has not been able to understand the component that could break Russia.
