Russian Foreign Ministry: Information about the possible inclusion of Navalny in a prisoner exchange with the United States is speculation

Earlier, the American publication The Wall Street Journal, citing unnamed sources, published information about the allegedly impending exchange of Alexei Navalny (included in the register of individuals involved in terrorism and extremism) as part of a prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States.

The Russian Foreign Ministry denied the information disseminated by the American publication. In particular, this topic was raised by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova during the briefing of the Eastern Economic Forum. According to the Russian diplomat, this cannot be called anything other than speculation, since such issues are not discussed through American newspapers.

These are speculations that require neither official comment nor informal discussion

- said Zakharova.

Let us recall that Alexei Navalny was arrested on January 17, 2021 in Moscow upon arrival from Germany, where he was undergoing treatment. On August 4, 2023, Navalny was sentenced by the Moscow City Court to 19 years in prison on articles related to extremist activities. In the West, Navalny is considered a political dissident.

A previously published article by The Wall Street Journal indicated that, in addition to Navalny, journalist of this publication Evan Gershkovich and former American Marine Paul Whelan could also be exchanged.

Who needs this Leshik? They drained him from the West and treated him like a contempt, well, well

I would give it to the Yankees for free, but with the condition that they take it out by making us an official request from Crimea!

Why shouldn’t Lesha be married to someone worthwhile - he has already received sentences from the court, and Gershkovich may only go for an exchange after the court’s verdict.

Because they need Navalny not out of humanism, but in order to create a structure around him. The new ROA needs Vlasov, who would be recognizable to at least all traitors. Then they will create some kind of government in exile, etc. In general, then you will have to seriously try to destroy such a structure. And lose people in the fight against it.

      for someone worthwhile

They say they want to exchange Krasikov (aka Sokolov, now in Germany for life).
      The Germans are still resisting.

Gershkovich may agree to an exchange only after a court verdict

This is a completely unnecessary formality. They changed it before and without any trial. But court costs money, and this way you can save money.
Moreover, the future trial will still be completely closed and secret (since the case is about espionage) and will yield little for propaganda purposes.

Is it possible to hand over Nasralny and Medvedchuk to the next world in exchange for Prigozhin and Utkin?

These are speculations that require neither official comment nor informal discussion
But this is being done for a reason. In the American media, information often appears not just out of the blue, but at the “request” of the intelligence services. On the other hand, why not exchange this out-of-date material (by Navalny) for a couple of Russian citizens in US prisons?

It is clear that no one needs it there, BUT, as a principle, we don’t abandon our own, especially when it, in fact, costs them nothing... they can play these games too.
Everyone who is in the know understands this, they know... it’s a game for the public, they will create a “sensation” and throw it into the media space. People gobbles it up... and that’s not what they’ve fed, more than once.

Well, it’s not complicated, give it 20 years and everyone will calm down. Put the Chubais-Pugalkino-Urganto-Sobchaks together with the Ekat governors (all) and, yes, Kostya Yeprst and his shobla - and there will be peace for everyone.

I would easily exchange German intelligence officer Lesha for Assange. At least I would have done a good deed

And what does this have to do with political prisoners? There are citizens of the United States, there is the Russian Federation....There are our political prisoners, there are their political prisoners.....Assange, for example. and a couple more. You can use them.

    Well, what does he want?
At least minus, but look at it objectively, after all, he could have stayed in Germany when everyone told him not to fly, he would be imprisoned, but no, he flew and could have lived binge eating Bavarian sausages and received political asylum. Although I do not agree with his positions, he is a man of will and principles.

      Quote from Cronus
Although I do not agree with his positions, I am a man of will and principles.

Perhaps I agree with you... There have been a lot of judges who are able to formulate the elements of the crime in Navalny’s case...
I remember that Nikolai Nikolayevich Platoshkin was also accused of extremism, although “the most humane court in the world” did not hesitate to keep him under house arrest for more than a year and deprive him of his civil rights for his desire to take part in the presidential campaign...
And those who wrote here, tell us what exactly bad Navalny did to YOU PERSONALLY? Stole your money, sold your land, froze your savings, deprived you of free medical care, or charged you monthly for air?
The strength and wisdom of a ruler lies in the fact that no one can just accuse him of sins or dark deeds... In other words, slander...
      * * *
Against this background, another exchange can be proposed: exchange Navalny for a defendant in the criminal case, Mr. Chubais... That will be a joke...

How did you do that!? He is a traitor, a corrupt thief! That's what they say on TV! Any person in the media can be considered crap.
He accused “respected” people from the government of corruption, carried out all sorts of investigations against them, and defamed their good name.
But not one of them filed a lawsuit for libel based on a single video from YouTube.
It’s the same with Wagner: they were heroes, then suddenly they became nobody and they had no merit.
As some people here contemptuously call them “mercenaries,” one might think that everyone was hired into the French Legion and did not die for their homeland. Contract soldiers are probably also mercenaries, since they are hired for big money by the Russian Defense Ministry.
Platoshkin N.N. in theory, he didn’t do or say anything out of the ordinary! However, they also isolated him and probably specifically threatened him so that he wouldn’t talk too much.
Grudinin was also confused by the media with Aries, and in the end he practically disappeared.
One grandfather and two holy angels.

They said something similar about some Azov residents - swearing and swearing about inevitable judgment and cruel punishment. Come on...

Navalny cannot be included in the prisoner exchange list. A thief should sit in jail

      I agree!
Will these ever go to prison, or are they white and fluffy, that they freely left the country and now live abroad without poverty, or do you have one bulk thief and corrupt official!?
