“There are claims to the Malvinas Islands”: Argentina launched the modernization of medium tanks TAM 2C

The basis of the armored battle formations of the Argentine army is the TAM medium tank, developed by 1983 on the chassis of the German Marder infantry fighting vehicle and armed with a 105 mm L7A3 rifled cannon along with two 7,62 mm FN MAG machine guns. In total, until 1986, 256 pieces of equipment were produced, which were supplied only to the country's armed forces.

In 2022, it was announced its intention to upgrade this machine to the TAM 2C level. In the course of modernization, the tank should receive new hydraulics, an electric turret and gun drive, an auxiliary power unit, a round-the-clock optical system, the ability to fire missiles from the bore and optional KAZ from the Israeli company Elbit.

At the same time, it is required to prevent a significant excess of mass (the current weight is about 30 tons), since the soft soils of the pampas predominate in the Argentine theater of operations. In this regard, Argentina is armed with only medium (TAM, M-60A1) and light (SK-105 Kürassier, AMX-13, Patagón) Tanks.

To carry out the modernization, the production site of the Center for Strategic Research in the province of Mendoza (not working since 2018) was restored, which received the name Malvinas Argentinas, that is, the Argentine Malvins, whose ownership is disputed by Britain, calling them the Falkland Islands.

The name of the flagship of the national tank building is a recognition of the merits of the fighters who fought for the Islands, and reflects Argentina's existing claims to the effective exercise of its sovereignty

- said in the metallurgical company IMPSA on the occasion of the opening of production.

Malvinas Argentinas will manufacture and upgrade the towers and produce a range of parts, including fuel tanks and rollers.

It's a pity that Argentina has no plans for cooperation. Yes, and money too.

Otherwise, they would have arranged test number two for the small-shaven people. Strategically, we would have benefited from this conflict.
Yeah)) Lovers of English golf courses, cozy estates, banks and English education for offspring, will take and arrange ...

It’s time to end these fairy tales; lovers of the Prytan fields no longer decide anything in Russia.

Help will be needed. In order to protect democracy. But not being a party to the conflict, of course.

Putting an expensive KAZ on this Alya leopard 1 is kind of a pity.

The "proud" Argentine generals in 1982 "made a big fool" when the USSR "quietly" offered to sink the English fleet with their nuclear submarines, but on the condition that the Argentines "take it upon themselves" (From an interview with the then head of the junta, Lieutenant General Leopoldo Galtieri ) The then Argentine junta decided that they "themselves with a mustache" refused. As a result, sat in a puddle.

Tanks are, of course, good... But there is a small snag: they are going to fight for the ISLANDS!!! But tanks don't walk on the bottom of the ocean...
And with the fleet, the Argents are still "seams"! Unlike the British, who feed from the fleet and take care of it. Within budget limits, of course.
If they really want to return the Falklands by force to their hands, then they need to develop aviation and ASP, such as anti-ship missiles / PRR and other flying crap. Like our Lancets or Thunders, for example. I hope that their entry into BRICS + will contribute to the correct orientation of the country's Armed Forces to stop the threat from the shaved fleet.

We need to help the brotherly people oppressed by small-shaven colonialists, supply:
    1. Airborne and coastal anti-ship missiles
    2. SU-24 (we don’t need it, but they’re just right for anti-ship missiles)
    3. A couple of “Varshavyankas” (for rent)
    4. Well, T-62 tanks with enhanced anti-cumulative protection
    5. OSA-AKM air defense system
    6. SAM CUBE
And voila, the historical response for inciting the Russo-Japanese War took place.

Well, for the purpose of mutual assistance, you can lease a couple of submarines (with crews) to Argentina... This will not be considered a “party to the conflict”? ))
