The government contract for life and health insurance for military personnel allows us to estimate the approximate level of incidents involving the military in various injuries, disability and death.

Insurance company "Rosgosstrakh" recognized as the winner of one of the largest competitions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - for the right to provide compulsory state life and health insurance for military personnel of the Russian Armed Forces and citizens called up for military training in 2013, the competition documentation says.

The competition was announced in early November. The maximum contract price was set at 5,689 billion rubles.

In total, four insurers - Rosgosstrakh, VTB Insurance, MAKS and Emergency Insurance Company (PSC) were allowed to participate in the tender. Another contender - RESO-Garantia - did not receive admission.

As a result, Rosgosstrakh set the price for its services at the level of 5,367 billion rubles and received the highest number of points - 28,18. MAX, who took the second place, scored 25,04 points, requesting exactly 500 thousand rubles more for his services than the winner. At the same time, Rosgosstrakh beat competitors mainly not at the price of a contract, but in terms of the quality of services and qualifications of the participant.

According to the project documentation, the amount of insurance coverage in case of the death of a serviceman is 2 million rubles, the planned amount of insurance payments is 2,15 billion rubles.

The average number of insurance claims per year - 1,076 thousands of cases.

The total planned amount of insurance payments for disabilities or injuries is almost 4 billion rubles.

In particular, the amount of insurance payment in the case of the military receiving the first group of disability, according to the document on the justification of the contract price, is 1,5 million rubles, while receiving the second group of disability - 1 million rubles, the third group - 500 thousand rubles.

The size of insurance premiums is calculated on the basis of statistics on insured events accumulated over six years (from 2006 to 2011 years), according to the tender documentation.
