The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposed to adopt a resolution on the prohibition of territorial concessions
A large group of Ukrainian deputies from different factions submitted a new document to their parliament. In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the initiators of this project proposed to adopt a resolution on the prohibition of territorial concessions by Ukraine.
The text of this document has been made public.
There are many signatures under it. The first among the signatories are the chairman of the Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, as well as vice-speakers Alexander Kornienko and Elena Kondratyuk.
The resolution invites the deputies of the Ukrainian parliament to adopt a statement regulating the policy of the Kyiv authorities on the return of Crimea to Ukraine. How they are going to do this is not indicated there, but there is a lot of talk about what Kyiv would do on the peninsula if it came under its control.
The draft statement proclaims that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are obliged to continue hostilities until Ukraine reaches the 1991 borders. And the Russian military is “instructed” to leave all territories that are within their borders. Also, the deputies of the Rada separately mentioned the Russian Black Sea Fleet, whose presence in Sevastopol they called "unacceptable."
- it is said in the text of the document submitted by the deputies of the Rada.
Earlier last month, a former adviser to the head of the Ukrainian President's Office, Oleksii Arestovich, said that Ukraine should have come to terms with the loss of 20 percent of its territory so that the remaining 80 percent could join NATO. He considers it possible to divide the country into two halves, as happened after the end of World War II with Germany.
