The first export contract for Ka-62 helicopters

Russian Helicopter Development Holding OJSC “Russian Helicopters” (a subsidiary of the defense industrial complex Oboronprom), in its press release 14 December 2012, announced that it had concluded the first export contract for the supply of promising Ka-62 helicopters (at the “new appearance”) of Brazilian airline Atlas Táxi Aéreo. The contract also includes the option to supply an additional seven helicopters.

The document was signed during the visit of Brazilian President Dilma Vana Rousseff to Russia. This is the first contract for a new average multi-purpose Ka-62 helicopter. Under the terms of the contract, the delivery of the first batch of two Ka-62 helicopters to the Brazilian operator will begin in the first quarter of 2015. Until the end of 2015, four more helicopters are planned to be delivered, another Ka-62 helicopter will be delivered in the first quarter of 2016. The contract also includes the option to supply an additional seven Ka-62 helicopters.

The tests of the Ka-62 are scheduled to begin in the 2013 year, and by the 2015 year the holding Russian Helicopters expects to certify the helicopter for international use, including in Brazil. Under the terms of the contract concluded with Atlas Táxi Aéreo, the Russian Helicopters holding, together with its regional partners, will take part in the creation of a service center for after-sales service of helicopters in Brazil.

Atlas Táxi Aéreo is already operating Mi-171А1 medium multipurpose helicopters that were delivered a year earlier. These helicopters won the tender of the Brazilian national oil company Petrobras and, probably, in the future, the fleet of these helicopters will be increased.

Atlas Táxi Aéreo was established in 1998 and is based in Rio de Janeiro. The company's fleet now consists of five Sikorsky S-76A helicopters and two Mi-2011А171 helicopters received in 1.

There (in Brazil) there is a large fleet of Russian helicopters, and therefore in practice they learned the simplicity of control and "relaxed" in maintenance, and the price-quality ratio plays a major role!
According to Petrov, helicopters will be used mainly for transportation to oil platforms by the Brazilian company Petrobraz.

“This is the first contract for a new medium-sized Ka-62 multi-purpose helicopter, which is one of the most anticipated novelties of the Russian Helicopters holding in the world market,” the Russian Helicopters press release notes.

The holding said that under the terms of a contract with Atlas Táxi Aéreo, Russian Helicopters together with their regional partners will take part in setting up a service center for after-sales service of machines in Brazil. “Thanks to the spacious and comfortable cabin, the Ka-62 helicopter is perfect for corporate and passenger traffic, as well as special operations,” the document says.

The press release notes that Atlas Táxi Aéreo already operates the medium-sized multi-purpose helicopters Mi-171A1, which were delivered a year earlier. These helicopters won the tender of the Brazilian national oil company Petrobras, and probably in the future the fleet of these helicopters will be increased

The Ka-62 helicopter is built on a single-rotor scheme with a tail rotor in the vertical tail. The helicopter is designed with international safety requirements in mind. The propeller blades and glider are more than half made of polymer composite materials. The helicopter is designed to carry 12-14 passengers in the cabin or 2,5 tons of cargo on an external sling. Helicopters Ka-62 can be used in the oil and gas sector, as well as used in rescue operations.

That is the whole point. Helicopters, apparently, are designed for our oil industry workers:
"The Russian-British company TNK-BP and the Brazilian oil companies HRT and Petrobras have agreed to develop a plan to develop gas reserves in the Amazon jungle," HRT and TNK-BP said in a joint statement, Reuters reports. TNK-BP has acquired 45% of HRT's Amazonian blocks at the end of 2011. Three partner companies agreed to draw up a work plan within thirty days and prepare a business plan within six months, the message says. There is an attempt to end the embargo on the purchase of Brazilian meat by Russia. But our "hands are twisted" for the purchase of aircraft wink

The visit of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff to Russia on December 14 was without any surprises. Each of the parties could not solve the main task set for itself. Brazilians seek lifting the embargo on the supply of beef and pork to Russia, The Kremlin would like to win a tender for the supply of a large batch of fighter jets to Brazil.

              Long time tender

A few years ago, the Brazilian government announced a tender for the purchase of 36 combat fighters and a large number of assembly kits. They should replace the aircraft of the obsolete model F-103 Mirage III. Now three companies are fighting for the right to supply under a contract, the total amount of which is estimated at 4-5 billion euros: the French company Dassault with Rafale fighters, the American Boeing, which offered the F / A-18 Super Hornet and the Swedes from Saab with the Gripen combat aircraft NG. Sukhoi Corporation was excluded from the competition back in 2006, when President Luis Inacio “Lula” da Silva was in power.

But with the advent of Rousseff Sukhoi unexpectedly regained chances to participate in the competition and to supply its SU-35S fighters. The Brazilian president made it clear that the decision has not yet been made. “So far, we are very careful about the costs. The decision on this contract may take extra time, depending on how quickly we manage to stabilize the budget.", - said Dilma Rousseff in Paris, where she also held talks before making a visit to Moscow.

Rustam understands that an insignificant amount of Russian helicopters in Brazil compared to Don Pedro drinks ... Let's just look at the example of motorists and mentality. I have a neighbor at the former place of residence, having a good income, he preferred to have a "nine" carburetor ... he knew that anywhere in our country he would be able to fix it using improvised materials (I do not mean major repairs), succumbing to comfort and taking the car son-in-law (Passat 4) almost "froze" the family when traveling to the country ... According to the old chauffeur tradition, burned the wheels (enough spare wheel) laughing But young people can no longer imagine a car without a subbuffer, air conditioning and other gadgets, "smaller brothers" buy old "fives", but they immediately put on anti-fenders, halogen and "blue writers" well, and forward flow without which there is nowhere ...
Here and the main division - what is the purpose of the unit
              - in order to get guaranteed from point A to point B.
              - for the comfort of the person managing it.
              - for show off ...
Let's take an ordinary mid-range Russian company (a cheap car without air conditioning and other gadgets). Of course, the "cool driver" of such a company will look down on the VAZ-2104 that he has inherited and envy his fellows from the neighboring company, who rule on (... the list is large), but he looks at reality from his position as a driver (... oops) rather than in terms of the economic benefits of the company owners ...
Surprisingly, as it smells "fried" (Afghan, Iraq ....) everyone understands that simple and reliable "turntables" are better, and not "fucking * pip" dopokatushnik "IMHO hi

By the way, in 2012 the sum of all arms deals for export exceeded 14 billion green presidents. It's not bad.

Unfortunately, the big problem of our defense holdings is after-sales service in the broad sense, spare parts supply and warranty repairs. There is no clearly structured B2B class system for realizing customer requests, so it often happens that companies from China, Israel, Ukraine, etc., profit further on our deliveries, taking the bulk of the income. Thus, the quality and credibility of our military products is reduced on counterfeit deliveries. There is still much to be done in this direction.

Well, this is understandable, it is like the "current" CIS countries and the Warsaw Pact, and what happened during the Soviet era. However, the Hungarian Ikarus were then "masters" of passenger transportation in many countries of the Eastern Bloc. Amers never leave the markets, and there he is lured and close by.

Beautiful helicopter. But the scheme is classic, atypical for Kamov cars. The main engine seems to be a piston. And the tail is electric, probably driven by the drive.
The Kamov firm completely departed from its traditions, which for many years distinguished its products from numerous classic helicopters. No matter how you get lost.

To blame. feel Indeed, specifically for the Ka-62 helicopter, the Rybinsk Design Bureau of Motor Engineering developed the gas turbine engine of the new generation of the modular design RD-600, which has the characteristics of the best foreign gas turbine engines. And for export deliveries, an option has been developed with foreign engines General Electric T700 / CT7-2D1 or LHTEC CT8-800 or Rolls-Royce / Turbomeca RTM 332.
