"Leninsky Komsomol" after restoration in the museum

The first Soviet nuclear submarine K-3 "Leninsky Komsomol" took its place in the Museum of Naval Glory, which is scheduled to open this year, work on turning the submarine into a museum exhibit has been completed. This was reported on the website of the Kronstadt Marine Plant, which was engaged in the restoration of the submarine.

The main work on the submarine, carried out at the enterprise, was completed at the end of last summer, after which the submarine began to prepare for an engineering operation to move to the place of eternal parking in the Museum of Naval Glory of the Island of Forts tourist cluster in Kronstadt.

During the operation, the submarine was first delivered to the Vyborg Shipyard, where it was installed on the Atlant submersible barge, and from there it was delivered to the port of Kronstadt. Then the submarine was divided into two parts according to the donor compartment, which replaced the reactor compartment, and on special self-propelled axles at night through the streets of the city was delivered to the museum, where work continued to turn the submarine into an exhibit. Judging by the published photos, all work on the "Lenin Komsomol" has been completed, after the opening of the museum it will be possible to view it not only from the outside, but also from the inside.

When I first went to sea in 1979-80, she was already permanently on the outer roadstead of Severomorsk. It’s good that they kept it.

PMSM, K-3 was very lucky that during its first arrival for disposal in 2002, a decision was already under discussion about its museumification.
And today, the 20-year history of wandering around the SRH and the bays of sediment, knocking out money, making and canceling decisions about the museum (in 2014, K-3 was almost disposed of again) has finally come to an end. good

In 20 years, the grandson will tell where his grandfather did the real reactor compartment. (Ensuring the extreme unloading of spent nuclear fuel, the formation of the RO unit, sending the Saida to the PVC).

How to say. It's one thing if these 80 billion were allowed "on pensions and kindergartens." But didn't we have money besides these 80? Instead of a museum, they would have been left in a reserve fund, half of which the Anglo-Saxons have already spit on, but have not yet decided how to formulate new rules that will justify their appropriation in the eyes of "uncivilized" countries.

      - but the fact that they had to cut it 2 times is not important to you.
The main thing for you is MO to kick ....
After the war, the same dunduks cut everything into metal to which they reached - not a single T34 from the first running gear was left, I’m silent about all sorts of BT and T26 ..
And with ships / planes the same garbage ...
You don't care about perpetuating the memory of heroes - the main thing for you is loot ...

My cousin served there. I remember him. In retirement, he went not with a gray-haired, but with a head completely white as snow, and 2 times a year he went to a sanatorium for a blood transfusion.
He hated restaurants, said that they were fed shit compared to what they were fed in the galley and after going to the sanatorium.
It would be necessary to exhibit portraits of crew members in the museum boat.
    At least the officers.

"It would be necessary to exhibit portraits of crew members in the boat-museum." I completely agree. My uncle served as a navigator on K-3, still underway. I hope that this year I will be able to visit the nuclear-powered ship.

The first domestic nuclear power plant.
The world's first nuclear power plant is still American - on the Nautilus, which first went to sea as a naval ship with a power plant introduced 9 months before the K-3 laying.

Glory and eternal memory to the heroes of the 1st and 2nd compartments who died on September 8, 1967. I hope their memory was immortalized. It is hard to imagine the feat of officer Anatoly Malyar who closed the hatch in front of him in the second compartment, but he could go out into the third and close it already there.

Cool news! I have been planning to visit Kronstadt for a long time, but I usually visit St. Petersburg for the New Year, but I want to walk around the forts (in winter - not an option). Well, if a museum is opened, then I will plan to go in the summer, definitely. thanks for the info good hi
