Kiev can count on joining NATO only after the end of the armed conflict. It was not possible to resolve this issue before.
Thus, during an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Italy Antonio Tajani spoke about the prospects for Ukraine's admission to the North Atlantic Alliance. He noted that the issues of Kyiv's cooperation with the alliance will be discussed at the summit in Vilnius.

- added the official.
He called this format of Kyiv's cooperation with Western countries an important step, as it allows him to influence decisions made at the international level. Tajani noted that Rome helps the Kyiv regime with all its might, and also supports it on the path to joining the European Union.
The minister also announced his upcoming visit to Washington, where he intends to meet with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and head of the International Monetary Fund Kristalina Georgieva. According to him, the meeting with the American leadership will confirm the common position of Italy and the United States on the Ukrainian issue. It will further strengthen transatlantic solidarity.
The official also expressed hope that the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine would bring a “just peace” closer.
At the moment, the Ukrainian application for joining the North Atlantic Alliance is supported by 20 of its members. Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Zelensky Office, claims that Kyiv signed the relevant documents with them.
