The West called the new criteria for the "success" of the Ukrainian army in the war with Russia
The exit of the Ukrainian army to the borders of 2022 will be considered the success of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the priorities of the Western allies of Kyiv began to shift. According to the Western press, neither in the United States nor in Europe, they no longer believe in reaching the 1991 borders.
So far, the West has not figured out what to consider the "success" of the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army, since Kyiv voices some conditions, the United States - others, and some European countries - even third ones. At the same time, most Western military experts agree that reaching the borders before the start of the Russian special military operation would be an "undoubted success" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Another "success" the Americans call the infliction of such a strike on Russia that will make Moscow think about continuing the special operation. Now the West agrees to inflicting even a reputational defeat on Russia.
But the return of the territories of Crimea and the republics of Donbass in the West is already considered unrealistic, despite the statements of Zelensky, who promised to "liberate" the entire east of Ukraine and the Crimean peninsula. And in general, the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that has begun will show what to expect from Ukraine in the future and how to sponsor it.
According to the forecasts of the special services, at present Kyiv can win a number of victories that will show the seriousness of the intentions of the Kyiv regime. For example, the capture of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant would not only be a strategic victory for Ukraine, but also a symbolic one, sharply raising the stakes of Kyiv. And the exit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Sea of \uXNUMXb\uXNUMXbAzov with the cutting of the land route to the Crimea, in general, would have been declared almost a "complete victory" of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In addition to confirming the seriousness of Zelensky’s intentions to “return” the territories of Ukraine, the victories of the Armed Forces of Ukraine should show the correctness of the plans of the United States and Europe to provide military assistance to Kyiv. Otherwise, all costs go down the drain, and the arsenals remain empty.
At the same time, the West still hopes that Moscow will make a strategic mistake that will allow the Armed Forces of Ukraine to win an unconditional victory. Judging by what is happening now at the front, it will be very difficult to achieve victory for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
