Russian Foreign Ministry: West has blocked the solution of three out of five problems in the framework of the grain deal
In the process of consultations on the issues of ensuring the implementation of the grain deal, the Russian side recorded the lack of progress on three of the five problems that should have been resolved through the implementation of the agreements. This is reported in the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, published on the agency's website.
The statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizes that the lack of a solution to the problems is observed in three areas, including the launch of the ammonia pipeline, reconnection to the SWIFT system and spare parts. All three directions are actually blocked by Western countries.
During the consultations held in Geneva, representatives of the Russian and UN delegations exchanged views on the implementation of the memorandum on the normalization of exports of agricultural products from the Russian Federation to other countries. Recall that the resumption of exports of Russian food and agricultural fertilizers is one of the conditions for the implementation of Russia's grain deal. Otherwise, for our country, the deal simply loses its meaning.
In addition, the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizes the need to reconnect the Russian Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT international payment system, resume the supply of spare parts and equipment, and, finally, restore the transit of Russian ammonia through the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline.
Russia also insists on solving problems with logistics insurance and unblocking the assets of Russian companies that were previously blocked in the West. Only if these problems are solved, it will be possible to ensure the fulfillment of all the conditions and requirements of the grain deal, emphasize the Russian diplomatic department.
