The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation issued an order on contracts with volunteer detachments
Until July 1, 2023, volunteer detachments operating in the zone of the special military operation will sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the Russian military department with reference to the statement of the Secretary of State - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Nikolai Pankov. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu.
This measure is being implemented in order to increase the effectiveness of the use of volunteer units that operate as part of the Joint Group of Forces. The order of the minister determines the procedure for organizing the service activities of volunteer detachments.
According to Pankov, volunteers will have the opportunity to conclude individual contracts either directly with volunteer units or with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. This will make it possible to extend the established measures of social protection and support to volunteers and their families.
Pankov noted that more than 40 volunteer formations are currently operating in the Russian Federation. The military department is seeing a growing interest in them from Russian citizens, which is explained, among other things, by the successful fulfillment of tasks on the line of contact by these detachments.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense noted that in the first 10 days of June 2023 alone, 13,5 thousand people were accepted for military service under a contract in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Pankov noted that the most active influx of contractors is in Moscow, Sevastopol, the Altai Republic, Bashkortostan, Ingushetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Chechen Republic, Tyva, Komi, the Jewish Autonomous Region, as well as in Astrakhan, Voronezh, Murmansk, Penza, Sakhalin and Tyumen regions of the Russian Federation.
