Representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine: We did not go to the Crimea in the spring, but we will go anyway - when it is warm
Despite the fact that the long-promised Ukrainian counter-offensive has already begun and is stalling, self-confident statements continue to be heard from Kyiv regarding the “liberation” of the former territories of Ukraine.
Although Ukrainian forces are unsuccessfully operating in areas far from the Crimean peninsula, some representatives of the Kyiv authorities speak of the imminent occupation of Crimea. In particular, this was stated by Andriy Yusov, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian military "will still be in Crimea."
Yusov said.
Earlier, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, promised that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be on the Crimean peninsula this spring. Yusov explained this unfulfilled dream of Kyiv by the fact that in the course of events unfolding at the front, "certain adjustments are made" and "this should not be treated like bets in a bookmaker's office."
- Yusov noted, without specifying where Budanov himself is at the moment.
Recall that in October last year, the head of the GUR, Budanov, predicted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine would reach the borders of Ukraine in 1991 by the summer of 2023.
