Former French President: The outcome of the Ukrainian conflict will depend on the results of the US elections

The outcome of the armed conflict in Ukraine will depend entirely on the results of the US presidential election scheduled for 2024. This was stated by former French President Francois Hollande.
In an interview with the British edition of the Financial Times, Hollande noted that, in his opinion, if Donald Trump wins the US elections, the newly elected head of state will speak in favor of cessation of hostilities in Ukraine.
The ex-president of France believes that the new American authorities will offer Russia to stop at the achieved lines, leaving the territories under its control in exchange for a ceasefire. The US authorities may be pushed to such a step by the too high cost of military support for Ukraine.
Hollande also added that since the end of his presidential term in 2017, the form of a "new geopolitical order" has become clearer, in which the alliance between Russia and China, which opposes the collective West, is rapidly consolidating.
Earlier, the French ex-head of state said that the agreements concluded in Minsk, of which he was one of the guarantors, were nothing more than a trick that enabled the Kiev regime to win enough time to build up military power. Hollande's words were subsequently confirmed by other signatories of the Minsk agreements - former German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
