Press of the DPRK: Pioneers acquired several multiple launch rocket systems for the army

North Korea, which irritates Washington so much, continues to arm itself, involving in this process the most diverse segments of the population, including even children.
As the country's Central News Agency reported today, the Korean People's Army has been reinforced by several multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). This would have been common if not for the fact that these MLRS were acquired and donated to the military by the Children's Union of Korea.
The transfer of military equipment took place in a solemn atmosphere on June 6 in front of the Mangyongde Palace of Schoolchildren in Pyongyang, where celebrations were held on the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the Children's Union.
The MLRS received by the Korean army from Korean children were named "Seongyeon" ("Boy"). We are talking about North Korean-made MLRS, which were once developed on the basis of Soviet systems.
The Korean Central News Agency notes that the schoolchildren purchased MLRS with funds they managed to get by working in the fields and in other places where they help adults as part of labor campaigns.
The Children's Union of Korea was established before the start of the Korean War in 1946 and represents something similar to the pioneers in the former USSR. According to some reports, the Union includes up to 3 million children aged 7 to 14 years.
