India intends to declare Germany the winner of the tender for the construction of six nuclear submarines with VNEU for the Indian Navy

The Indian tender for the construction of six non-nuclear air-independent submarines, announced in 2021, may be completed in the near future. According to Bloomberg, India intends to conclude a contract with the Germans.

According to the agency, New Delhi and Berlin plan to soon sign a contract for the construction of six nuclear submarines with VNEU for the Indian Navy. From the German side, ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems will participate in the deal, and from the Indian side - Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited. The treaty will be finalized during a visit to India by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who had already arrived in New Delhi the day before.

ThyssenKrupp AG's shipbuilding division and India's Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited are likely to join forces on a $5,2 billion project to build six submarines for the Indian Navy.

- said in a statement.

In a tender for the construction of six non-nuclear submarines for the Indian fleet German ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, Spanish Navantia, French Naval Group, South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and Russian Central Design Bureau Rubin participated. Later, Russia withdrew from the tender, offering India the joint development of a new diesel-electric submarine based on the Amur-1650 submarine, and not just licensed construction of several submarines.

Any details of a potential agreement between Germany and India have not yet been reported, most likely they will appear only after the signing of the agreement.

Oh, India took a chance specifically. In today's world, no contracts work. An example of how the Americans threw France, with boats for Australia. Now this contract can be easily linked by the Americans to India's position on Ukraine, Germany is practically a colony ...........

      What is the risk?

The tender... was attended by the German ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems, the Spanish Navantia, the French Naval Group, the South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) and the Russian Central Design Bureau Rubin.

Except Ruby, everything is under USA...
The Indians chose the best offer, because the Germans are the world leaders in the construction and export of nuclear submarines. There are 209/212/214 massive working projects all over the World.

France was "thrown" not because of the French or Australians, but because of the Chinese, who decided to go into Oceania for good. To resist the PLA Navy in the vast region of NPLs with VNEU is clearly not enough, nuclear-powered ships are needed. And India, in any case, will be on the other side of the barricades from China, so this contract will be executed in 99,99%.

      1. In fact, the Deutschers are very scrupulous about their common reputation. They always fulfilled their obligations under the contracts, even when the prices on the market fluctuated in favor of the Deutschmark.
      2. Yankees are unscrupulous by definition: Business is nothing personal! In addition, no one in the West "lifts his leg" against them. Only those who have nothing to lose can do this. Somehow - North Korea, Iran, Cuba ... China and the Russian Federation can by virtue of their status, well, the Saudis ... And no one else.
      3. The French got what they deserved. They very expensively ripped off the same Indians with their Scarpenes, when they almost doubled the price for inserting VNEU into them.
      4. The Germans are recognized leaders in non-nuclear submarine shipbuilding. Therefore, it is logical that the Hindi ordered boats from them. We haven't been able to provide them with anything. And the Indians need something to oppose the Hongfuz. And besides "Arihant" she has nothing. Our 971 And they returned - everything! The whales are also not very good, but compared to the Brahmins, they have both submarines and SSBNs.

Quietly, we are losing the Indian arms market.
All Indians or someone else is to blame.

The Indians are armed with a traditional zoo. It was they who used to more or less adhere to uniformity, and then not very much. And now - in general, the seams are the case.

India wants to move China. Get machine-tools, and, of course, markets. Become the world's second factory. Here are the answers to your questions.

          India wants to push China

India, at first glance, has everything for this, but still unrealistic. The caste system, horrendous bureaucracy and ubiquitous corruption will bury any good undertakings. The iron discipline, diligence and responsibility of the Chinese are simply unattainable for the Indians, no matter what they say ...

Hindus need reliable submarines with VNEU, which we don’t have, what can I add ...

Well, they need a ready-made solution, not games of "let's design something, maybe in X years something will come out"

The choice of the performer is an internal affair of India. Russia has made its proposals for joint participation in the boat building project. So far, the Indians have given the Germans the opportunity to make good money. We hope to find out how things will develop further.

The Germans have very good torpedoes, I think that's the reason. That the Germans won the tender.

What expectations can we have from our side without having anything working on our hands? This Amur project is just a veiled invitation to finance a Russian obscure program to develop a domestic VNEU with all the risks and an unknown result.

In what you are right. But the cunning Brahmins will succeed in exactly the same way as with the joint development of the Su-57. The only place where they didn’t break off is the BrahMos project of the Kyrgyz Republic ... But at the expense of the NPL ... They may still regret it. Malachite seems to have promised to present VNEU based on a closed-cycle turbine by the end of 2023. If this succeeds, then our NNSs will receive a single surface and underwater engine. Except for the Japanese and South Korean electric trains, this is a step forward compared to fuel cell nuclear submarines, DS and MESMA, which are also forced to carry diesel for surface travel.
But for now, something is "silence in the compartments."

It's simple - Germany has experience in building and operating nuclear submarines with VNEU, Russia does not. The Germans can offer a specific ship with well-known characteristics, Russia offers "the joint development of a new diesel-electric submarine based on the submarine of the Amur-1650 project" ... yeah, with an unknown result, because no matter how they "puffed up", VNEU could not even do it for themselves Yes, and "based on the submarine of the Amur-1650 project" - it is said too "loudly", because this submarine does not exist, there are not even working construction drawings, most likely, so, a conceptual project with minimal detail. winked

Yeah, only the Japanese made their new diesel-electric submarine. For some reason, VNEU did not like them.

And the Germans do not need to invent anything new: - India's closest ally in the common cause, locking the Malacca Strait, has three of the most modern Type 218SGs already in the water, a fourth is under construction, two more are planned. Perhaps Singapore will not refuse the Indians its advanced combat control system if they do not want the German Atlas, although not a fact ... They will call Type 218IN, a large 70 m boat, 2200 tons of underwater displacement, the latest generation AIP, 2.5-3 times lighter and more powerful elements, Li-ion, etc. and so on. But less than a billion euros per unit. will not work...

https://www.indianarrative.com/world-news/india-and-germany-set-to-jointly-build-advanced-submarines-at-home-144839.html Уже более трезвая оценка: The MoU signing ceremony, which took place in Mumbai on Wednesday in the presence of German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius, has laid the foundations for the German company’s future cooperation with India’s premier defence shipyard to compete in the Indian Navy’s tender for the supply of six submarines in a deal believed to be worth six billion Euros.
