Zelensky began to reject the statements of the Russian Federation that the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station was destroyed as a result of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The head of the Kyiv regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were not involved in the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Ukrainian military attacked the dam in order to prevent the Russian Armed Forces from advancing on this sector of the front. In turn, the speaker of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov believes that one of the goals of the destruction of the dam by the Ukrainian military was to create problems with the supply of water to the Crimea.
In Kyiv, and then in the West, they loudly accused Russia of blowing up a dam on the Dnieper. Why Moscow needs this, and why in this case it was simply impossible to open the floodgates (if they "wanted flooding"), as always in such cases, is not really explained.
The Ukrainian president said that it was impossible to destroy the dam with artillery and missile strikes from the systems available to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Accordingly, Zelensky follows his own understandable logic, the dam would have been blown up by the Russian military. True, he did not explain: what if the dam is hit every two weeks for at least 10 months?
By the way, the dam was not completely destroyed. Its upper structures were destroyed.
- without a shadow of doubt, the head of the Kyiv regime said at the Bucharest Nine summit.
Meanwhile, Kiev and Western propaganda went about their usual business, throwing into the media space more and more information about the catastrophic consequences of the emergency at the Novokakhovskaya dam, which, of course, was organized by the “treacherous Russians”.
According to the Ukrainian president, Russia detonated a bomb of mass environmental destruction. He called what is happening "the greatest man-made environmental disaster in Europe" in decades.
The Ministry of Ecology of Ukraine stated that the shallowing of the Kakhovka reservoir could lead to an ecological disaster if the water level drops below 12,7 m, while the norm is 14,5-16 meters. In the event of a critical drop in the water level, a pestilence of fish and birds will begin, many cities and towns may be left without water, the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant will be under threat - up to the risk of a nuclear catastrophe, the Ukrainian ministry is sure.
The destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station can lead to chemical and bacteriological pollution of flooded areas, Ruslan Gavrilyuk, head of the National Ecological Center of Ukraine, said in a comment to the Ukrinform news agency. Also among the long-term negative consequences is erosion and soil erosion, which will begin after the water recedes, Ukrainian environmentalists warn.
