Russian warships took part in international exercises off the coast of Indonesia

The day before, Russian warships arrived at the roadstead of the Indonesian port of Makassar, located on the island of Sulawesi, where a naval parade of participants in the exercise was held, in which sailors from more than 30 countries take part. In addition to the marine part, the exercise program also includes the coastal part.
International naval exercises "Komodo" have been held every two years since 2014. Russian vessels this year are taking part in them as part of their long-distance voyage in the sea area of the Asia-Pacific region.
The main goal of the exercises is to strengthen international partnership at sea. As part of the event, it is planned to pay special attention to the interaction between the crews of ships from different countries in the course of carrying out humanitarian tasks in the conditions of natural disasters and natural disasters.
Earlier it was reported that the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy until 2027 is planned to be reinforced with 12 new corvettes of projects 20385 and 20380, which are currently being built at shipyards in St. Petersburg and Komsomolsk-on-Amur. In addition, the Pacific Fleet will be replenished with new nuclear submarines.
