On Sunday, June 4, the enemy attempted an offensive not on three, as previously stated, but on five sectors of the front in the South Donetsk direction. This is stated in the new message of the Ministry of Defense.
According to the data provided by the military, the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine began on Sunday morning, with the introduction of units of the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the strategic reserve of the Ukrainian General Staff, as well as other units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In total, the Ukrainian command sent eight battalions into battle, including six mechanized and two tank.
The enemy attacked at once on five sectors of the front, looking for a place where the defense of the Russian troops would be more vulnerable. In the event of a breakthrough, additional forces were supposed to be brought into battle, but the enemy was not successful in any of the directions. The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine per day amounted to 250 personnel, 16 tanks, three infantry fighting vehicles and 21 armored vehicles of various types (40 armored vehicles).
In the areas where the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked, there were troops of the Eastern Military District, who built a competent defense, on which the enemy stumbled. According to the Ministry of Defense, the commander of the NVO, General Gerasimov, was at the forefront during the attack.

Earlier it was reported that during the day on June 4, the enemy launched attacks on the Vremeevsky ledge, near Ugledar and in the Avdiivka area. Near Vremeevka and Vuhledar, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had a temporary success, but were thrown back; near Avdiivka, the attack attempt failed. According to military correspondents, the enemy is looking for a weak point in the defense in order to launch a large-scale offensive.
