Italian press: G7 countries secretly prepare security guarantees for Ukraine in case the conflict ends
The countries that are members of the so-called "Big Seven" are secretly working on the formation of some "security guarantees" that are supposed to be offered to Ukraine in the event of an end to the armed conflict.
According to the Italian edition of La Repubblica, according to informed sources, we are talking about creating some "defense mechanism" for Ukraine. The G7 plans to hold a summit, the main topic of which will be the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, based on the so-called "peace formula" proposed by Ukrainian President Zelensky. However, Western allies are putting pressure on Zelensky to force him to soften the text of the language, bringing it to a form more acceptable to the "countries of the Global South".
Sources of the Italian publication also note that as a political guarantee, the Kyiv regime may be given the opportunity to start negotiations on a possible entry into the European Union. The EU summit scheduled for December could be decisive in this regard.
According to sources, the US leadership seeks to end the armed conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible so that it cannot harm the election campaign of the current US President Joe Biden.
At the same time, the authorities of Italy, Germany and France are unlikely to be able to enjoy the support of voters in matters of further support for Kyiv for a long time. According to the sources of the Italian edition, the allied countries of Ukraine are running out of both financial and military and political resources.
