Russia has developed an FPV drone "Ghoul" for strikes behind enemy lines

In the Sverdlovsk region, one of the enterprises developed the Ghoul FPV drone (FPV - first-person view, “first-person view”). This was reported by TASS with reference to a representative of the manufacturer of the unmanned vehicle.

According to a company representative, the drone will be used to strike at enemy targets behind the front line, as well as to prevent the delivery of ammunition and to destroy enemy armored vehicles. First batch drones, part of which was created with the help of 3D printers, have already been tested in the area of the special military operation.

The main task of our development is to strike the enemy at tactical depth in order to isolate the combat zone. That is, we want to block the conditional square from the possibility of transporting ammunition, personnel and equipment in order to make combat for the enemy as difficult and unbearable as possible

- told TASS manufacturer's representative drones.

Representatives of the enterprise also noted that another important goal of the new drone will be Tanks, which fire at the positions of Russian troops from closed firing positions. Drones will be able to detect such targets and attack them, which will greatly simplify the fight against enemy armored vehicles.

According to a representative of the enterprise, the drone can carry grenades for RPG-7 - PG-7VL, hand-held anti-tank grenades RKG-3M, high-explosive fragmentation charges. The manufacturing company preferred not to talk about the performance characteristics of the UAV, calling them a “surprise” for Ukrainian formations.

Since the first batch of drones has already passed the relevant tests at the front, the second batch will be made taking into account the responses and comments of the military, which these drones operate. In addition, representatives of the company noted that they are now busy solving a very serious and important task - import substitution of video transmitters that are used in FPV drones. These components are made in China and now they are becoming less and less.

It is noted that the production of drones is non-commercial. The funds were raised by subscribers of patriotic Telegram channels.

We need thousands and thousands of such drones. To attack, they need to cover the sky with a square of 100 by 100 kilometers. And every day, a thousand Kamikaze Drones are needed to strike at the rear, supply lines, warehouses, infrastructure, headquarters, etc.
The name is cool - Ghoul. But too aggressive. Whether it's Cheburashka, Losharik, Serpent-Gorynych, etc.

But they did not fit into the concept of the war of our General Staff.
And even now I’m not sure that following the current instructions of the Ministry of Defense, the drone will be adopted. There will be partisanship.

Perhaps they didn’t fit in, but even without concepts we have a lot of obstacles, for example, the idiotic requirement of the Ministry of Defense for the drone to work at minus 60 degrees! Not able to? You don't need a drone! And everything in this spirit, now we are catching up with squeaks, as always. Because of the dope all the problems winked

We need thousands and thousands of such drones.

Russia needs not thousands of drones, but an adequate leadership that will think about its people and its soldiers, and not about the "starving in Africa." In addition, it must have the determination to apply "hard" decisions on the objects of attack and the weapons used. Not necessarily TNW. The Russian army is armed with one of the most powerful non-nuclear weapons in the world - a vacuum bomb. It is capable of destroying all living things within a radius of more than three hundred meters. At the same time, the weapon does not pollute the environment at all and is very cheap to manufacture. Why it has not yet been used at least against the SBU building is a big question.
Everyone should understand that, by and large, we have not started anything seriously yet. But we do not refuse peace negotiations
        (Vladimir Putin)

It is precisely because of this "slightly pregnant" position that this war is raging.
When we already "start to fight for real." How much longer to wait?

Surrendered and Afghanistan, along with all our allies there. In military terms, the actions of our group there were competent and successful. Even the treacherous withdrawal of troops was carried out in an organized manner in accordance with the developed plan, with virtually no losses.

The Russians made an FPV drone a long time ago, they call it the Lancet, and it's pretty damn effective. By the way, unlike the clumsy American crafts Switchblade. completely groomed first in Syria. then on the outskirts.
This is all just a tribute to fashion, weapons from it are gomno. The channel is protected worse than the Lancetny, the operator is in danger and unmasks the positions of our troops. For the price, it certainly loses to a mass-produced drone. Just as disposable as the Lancet, while the warhead is way worse. At the same time, the Lancet and the Cube obviously fly much faster, you can’t run away. And they are equally unsuitable for searching for targets, they need a normal aircraft-type UAV
It's just fashion - that's what they spank to please the all-weavers

I upvoted you for the Lancet ... but, judging by the latest videos, in addition to the Lancets, which are very effective for large targets, ours began to use such "Ghouls" very successfully ... there are already many videos of duels with Ukrainian soldiers and flights directly into Bandera's dugouts, the ratio the price / efficiency of such devices is very high and online destruction and clearing of dill positions greatly saves the lives of our guys at the front, drones fly instead of scouts ... even from the point of view of the bestial economy, drones collected for a hundred thousand save the state millions of payments for each wounded killed ... but it's sad that again the PEOPLE collected money and the PEOPLE collected drones, and the state gives people's taxes to officials to cut them at wild margins for Chinese counterparts.

I categorically disagree. this is a promising direction for the development of grenades. in mass production, the cost is cheap. much more compact than ATGM and cheaper. allows you to accurately hit targets at a decent distance, even in shelters. for solving tactical tasks at the platoon level, an extremely useful thing. The FPV drone operator should become as much a required part of the platoon as the SVD sniper would in due course.

it's like the difference between company mortars, regimental and divisional artillery. you Lancets, pieces of 5, attach to each platoon? The lancet is good, but it does not solve operational tactical tasks directly on the line of contact, and FPV drones, due to their compactness, solve them. you will not be able to use the Lancets in the zone of direct fire contact. and FPV drone can be used in such conditions.

Do you even read the comments above what people write? The lancet is more expensive than an fpv drone, it is longer-range, it is more difficult and longer to launch with a catapult. Due to its cost, it requires preliminary reconnaissance and guidance. fpv drone can also be used against infantry, fly into dugouts, building structures, in the same high-rise buildings or industrial zones. Could it be a lancet? Will you shoot at the trenches with a lancet?

This drone was developed on the pure enthusiasm of the guys and with money collected from various people's donations and donations. And this is already a WORKING complex. Designed to work at tactical depth. This is not a replacement for Lancets. This is a very cheap and at the same time indispensable drone on the front line FPV. The "Telegram" already has footage of a similar one flying into the dugout of a strong point at a distance of about 2 km from the front line. And about will be and soon - yes, production has already been launched. We are talking about THOUSANDS of ready-made copies. And, by the way, this is not the only such project. The Doomsday drone is about the same, and we are also talking about the production of thousands of batches.

It already has regular ammunition from our military-industrial complex.

Drone "Ghoul" destroys Abrams ... while the layout :)

Today we were at a very strange event, the name of which sounded very pathetic "Development of the industry of unmanned aerial systems in the Urals."

Why strange, well, because we were invited to it a few days before the start, having learned about our development of an FPV kamikaze drone. Well, we decided to go, out of the kindness of my heart I thought that there would be dozens of developers there, let's exchange experience. Well, they lured the Abrams layout.

In fact, we were the ONLY one who launched the drone into the tank today. That's all, And this is in front of a huge delegation, which was shown all this, officials and all sorts of military men no lower than a colonel.

While collecting things, were the last. We go into the building where our drone was at the exhibition, and there it will be presented by some guy, whom I see for the first time in my life, we were very, so to speak, surprised.

In short, it all looks very so-so. Thanks for the tank layout

And why are you not satisfied with components from China?
For example, I have been developing electronic devices for many years, and the last thing I ask is where the components were brought from, it is important that they fit the parameters and the price is adequate. And the main production of m / s and other components has long been concentrated in Southeast Asia, including China. And in the near future there is no tendency to expand the production of components in the Russian Federation. So drones will be assembled from a complete set, brought in, incl. and from China.

But in this situation, to demand that drones be made exclusively on domestic components is complete nonsense, due to the limited range and completely inadequate prices. Moreover, the price has been raised to the limit not only by special execution and military acceptance, but mainly by extremely low serial production and the monopoly of the manufacturer.

At the Aeronet-2035 exhibition in Moscow, the Shershen quadrocopter, designed to suppress unmanned aerial vehicles and disperse riots, will be presented. This was announced to TASS by the head of the laboratory of external piloting and operation of unmanned aircraft of the Scientific Research Institute of Computer Complexes (NIIVK) named after V.I. M.A. Kartseva Vitaly Dolgov.
“The Hornet quadrocopter is presented for the first time, this is a new prototype, work is still underway. An interesting direction, a dual-purpose device with an ultrasound payload, radar suppression, ”Dolgov said.

According to him, the quadcopter can be used both to suppress other drones and to disperse riots. As Dolgov noted, the Shershen is a short-range drone, up to 10 km. “Now we are testing a coating for a quadcopter that will reflect radars. This should be his specialty. If you look at the sample presented at the exhibition, it seems to be all painted. This is a special paint that will reflect the radar, ”the specialist said.

Russia has developed a jet-powered FPV drone
The company "Unmanned Vehicles" has developed an aircraft-type jet FPV drone

The Ural company "Unmanned Vehicles" has developed a reactive FPV (First person view) kamikaze drone of the K-5 aircraft type. A prototype unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was presented at the Outfit exhibition at VDNKh in Moscow. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

“We made the UAV reactive in order to get speed. Maneuvering capabilities allow you to move at such a speed. In addition, the UAV is equipped with artificial intelligence and computer vision, it works within the framework of thermal signatures and within the framework of images. In particular, in the near future, the possibility of adjusting the inertial system will be used, which will completely get rid of the use of radio channels, ”the company said at the booth.

The developers noted that it would be enough for the drone operator to bring the device to the target area, and the on-board system would independently aim the UAV at a specific target.
The K-5 drone received a turbojet engine, which allows it to reach speeds of up to 400 kilometers per hour, and cruising speed is 200 kilometers per hour. The device is capable of flying up to 90 kilometers and carrying up to six kilograms of payload. It is noted that all components, with the exception of the engine, are Russian. The drone can be launched from a ground-based catapult or with a solid rocket booster.

The representative of the developer added that the UAV is being tested. Tests are planned to be completed by the end of 2023. and present a line of serial products in reconnaissance and strike performance.

The Inventors for the Front association has developed an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the Korshun aircraft type. This was reported by TASS on April 15.

It is noted that unlike analogues "Orlan" and "Eleron", "Kite" does not need a starting catapult. Thanks to this, it can be fully prepared for launch in just two minutes.

“While the launcher is being installed, artillery and MLRS of the enemy may begin to work on it, respectively, it may not be in time to launch the drone,” the representatives of the organization said.

All parts of the "Kite" are fastened, this allows for much more imperceptible takeoff and landing, which is safer not only for the operator, but also for the UAV itself.

The wingspan of the drone is 2,1 m, the length is 1,2 m. However, the drone can be launched both from the hand and from the ground. "Korshun" is designed for reconnaissance and dropping various products, including fragmentation grenades. The "Inventors for the Front" said that in the future it is planned to test the UAV in the special operation zone.

According to the organization, the drone combines technical solutions from both quadrocopters and aircraft. Due to this, the advantages of vertical takeoff and landing of a quadrocopter are used, as well as the duration of the flight of the aircraft is increased.

"Kite" takes off like a quadrocopter and freezes. After that, the front propeller is turned on, and the drone continues to fly like a plane on one engine. This technology provides less electricity consumption, which allows you to increase the flight time. The duration of the flight of the "Kite" is about two hours.

According to the developers, the cruising speed of the UAV is 70 km/h. The maximum flight distance is 170 km, the maximum altitude is 3 km above sea level.

Specialists of the Spektr-Engineering design bureau have created the Hedgehog ground drone, a robotic platform designed to destroy armored vehicles. This was announced to TASS by the executive director of the bureau Andrey Bratenkov.

The drone, according to him, is capable of carrying a payload of up to 5 kg and operating at a distance of up to 5 km. Experts are considering the possibility of increasing the load to 10 kg.

“The platform is able to maintain mobility, no matter how it is turned over. We looked at the experience of using such drones abroad and came to the conclusion that we need to make the cheapest possible device. We plan to offer it as a platform for the destruction of armored vehicles," the source said.

The drone is designed to destroy enemy armored vehicles and manpower in the trenches in the event of a deterioration in the situation on the battlefield, Bratenkov said. Soldiers will be able to launch the device from the trench and direct it along with the mine towards the enemy. The drone can also be directed under the belly of armored vehicles. This place is considered the most vulnerable to ground armored vehicles, the specialist explained.

"Hedgehog" moves on wheels. This form is cheaper than a caterpillar one and increases the drone's maneuverability and survivability.

The Spektr-Engineering Design Bureau was registered in 2019 in Berdsk, Novosibirsk Region. Its main activity is engineering design and technical consultancy.

Russia has developed a reconnaissance complex with a drone
OKB "Astron" has developed a thermal imaging reconnaissance complex with a UAV400T drone

Specialists of the Astron Optical-Mechanical Design Bureau (OKB) have developed the Blokpost-4T long-range thermal imaging reconnaissance complex with intelligent analytics. The system received the UAV400T quadrocopter. This was announced by the Director General of the Design Bureau Vladimir Popov to TASS.

According to him, the Russian army uses various optoelectronic means of collecting information about the area, including thermal imaging. The head of the Design Bureau noted that these complexes can provide either a large field of view or high image detail.

“We thought that integrating a “flying thermal imager” into the ground surveillance system would solve this dilemma in a non-standard and rather elegant way,” Popov said.

"Blockpost-4T" received a unified control system and image reception with its display on the monitor. Ground-based thermal imaging stations of the complex can detect a person at a distance of up to 800 meters and a car - up to two kilometers. Built-in video analytics highlights detected objects on the screen. After that, a drone is sent to the desired area, capable of recognizing detected targets at a distance of up to six kilometers.

Popov noted that the tests of the complex took place, and the first samples are currently being produced. The Blockpost-4T complex includes up to four ground-based thermal imaging cameras mounted on a tripod or other support, as well as an unmanned thermal imaging system for additional reconnaissance, target recognition and fire adjustment.

Earlier, General Director Vladimir Popov reported that Astron Design Bureau was working on improving the noise immunity of communication channels, reducing the size and increasing the flight range of the UAV400T.

Russia has developed a drone suppression system capable of operating without human intervention. A military volunteer, political scientist and publicist Alexei Zhivov told a RIA Novosti Crimean correspondent about this.

"This is an antenna system and a hardware-computer complex that can detect and suppress enemy drones in a wide frequency range. What is the advantage of this particular machine that we are testing today? That it does everything itself. It does not need an operator, the machine itself at a distance of up to three kilometers, it detects an unmanned vehicle, whether it be a civilian or military drone, homemade or FPV, and suppresses it," Zhivov said.
FPV drones are drones with a built-in module that allows you to control it from your smartphone. The suppression system finds any civilian or military drone in the coverage area and jams the frequency at which the UAV "communicates" with the control panel. After that, it either immediately drops, or after the battery is depleted.
“As a person who regularly visits the front line, I want to say that if the front line is saturated with such devices, then we will remove 80% of the problems associated with the operation of enemy drones, their loitering ammunition and other means,” the volunteer noted.
Experimental samples of such systems are already being tested. The advantage of this machine, according to Zhivov, is that it can detect and quickly suppress UAVs automatically, while it takes time for a person to make such decisions.
“As long as the developers observe a certain secrecy regime, people just need to know that Russian engineering is actively working and creating devices no worse than American specialists supply the Armed Forces,” Zhivov continued. “Some of this can already be delivered by volunteers, something will fall to the state defense order of the Ministry of Defense. It’s just that there are certain procedures that must be followed.”

Shoot down drones automatically: Russia has developed a unique system
A new development for the automatic destruction of drones will soon fall into the Russian troops

It’s just that there are certain procedures that must be followed.”
According to the volunteer, now The Ministry of Defense is actively working to reduce bureaucratic procedures for certain types of weapons. He hopes that very soon such devices will begin to enter the army through state defense orders.
As the RIA Novosti Krym website previously reported, the colonel of the National Guard was charged with the supply of poor anti-UAV complexes for the Crimean bridge structures. According to the prosecution, the actions of the defendant caused damage in the amount of 395 million rubles.

Russian enthusiasts have developed a unique kamikaze drone "Privet-82". Its basis is the FPV system. This was reported by the PolitNavigator Telegram channel.

The video from the drone is broadcast from the first person. At the same time, the device has characteristics that are convenient for military use - it is able to carry 4 kg of explosives, stay in the air for more than 20 minutes and operate within a radius of more than 30 km.

Currently, the developers have begun further testing of the drone, increasing the load to 5,5 kg, with which the device has so far successfully coped.

The drone also has a repeater, thanks to which it can fly at a distance of 3 km from the ground, while maintaining communication.

Earlier it was reported that the specialists of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center named after Zababakhin, which is located in the city of Ozersk, Chelyabinsk region, invented a new way to destroy drones.

This development can be used in the protection of military and civilian facilities.

Drone "Dandelion" resistant to precipitation and gusts of wind has been developed in Russia

PATRIOT PARK / Moscow region /, August 19. /TASS/. The light unmanned aerial vehicle "Dandelion" in modifications with coaxial and quadrocopter propeller arrangement was first presented at the "Army-2022" exhibition. Ruslan Lyapin, deputy general director for development of the Atri research and production company, told TASS that the coaxial modification of the drone is immune to precipitation and can be used in conditions of strong wind gusts.

"This [drone developed] as part of the import substitution of Chinese drones of the Mavic series. Quadcopter and coaxial design. Designed for monitoring the ground, sea surface, identifying objects <...> treetops," he said.

The drone rises to a height of up to 3 meters, the flight radius is limited to 5 meters, and the flight time is 40-45 minutes. According to a company representative, the UAV payload is up to 2 kg, for example, radio intelligence modules can act as it.

“There is no such line of small domestic-made drones. A coaxial drone is less prone to precipitation. Unlike this [quadrocopter type], it can operate during precipitation even in strong gusts of wind. That is, this model is stable,” Lyapin noted, adding that the drone is at the utility model stage.

The international military-technical forum "Army-2022" is being held from August 15 to 21 at the Patriot exhibition center. The event is organized by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Novosibirsk engineers have developed a micro-drone helicopter type "Bumblebee"

Engineers competence center of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in Novosibirsk developed the Shmel microdrone. Special services and the Ministry of Defense of Russia can become customers of the device. This was announced by the head of the center Denis Kotin, reports RIA Novosti.

The center, which will develop new models of drones, was created in 2023 on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU).

According to Kotin, the development is at the level of a prototype. The prototype of the drone was the Black Hornet Nano. “Our task was to compete in this segment and try to get closer to the well-known analogue in terms of technical characteristics and dimensions,” he said.

The weight of the UAV, which looks like a toy helicopter, is 85 grams, the flight speed is up to 25 kilometers per hour, and the range is up to two kilometers. The device can transmit data from the camera to this distance. One battery provides 20 minutes of drone flight. The UAV kit includes three replaceable batteries.

“He is already flying, but in the way we would like it, according to our plans, should take place by June, and for the rest of the year we should already be demonstrating a prototype to potential consumers, ”added the head of the Competence Center. He noted that the main potential customer of the UAV is the Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, Alexei Khripunov, General Director of the Aeroscript Research Center, said that Russia is still facing a shortage of a number of technologies for the production of drones. The industry needs radio navigation, radar and meteorological systems.

The center, which will develop new models of drones, was created in 2023 on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU).

I am a graduate of this university in 1981, and, on the one hand, I am pleased that students and teachers seem to be busy with useful and informative work, but on the other hand, having a huge technical and life experience, I would not consider this craft as a serious product, massively applicable in practice in the army. Such developments should be carried out by professional design bureaus, and not affiliated with the Moscow Region. "Pocket" design bureaus do not have the tone for serious work, because they know that no matter what they do, they will still be paid, and they will roll back. Moreover, the form of ownership does not matter, on the contrary, with state property, money seems to be "no one's" and kickbacks go with a whistle, and the output of such "developments" is zilch.

The question is - how with such communication problems as we have now, can we provide the transmission of a control signal and a picture for an FPV drone? So that the signal has a minimum delay, and has high resistance to enemy electronic warfare?

Given that such drones will need at least hundreds approaching a thousand.

Not at all, because they still need to be made, these are not Chinese walkie-talkies. And to make it on a budget, mainly from domestic components, and taking into account the fact that these will be active "consumable" products.
Will our defense industry be able to solve the issue of stable communications and a "picture" for serial products in the near zone, and not just solve it, but on a budget and quickly?
Here the question is not whether we can "hypothetically", hypothetically, we have everything in things that have no analogues, so to speak. The question is in practical implementation, taking into account how more pressing related areas are implemented.

In fact, there are not so many real working enterprises in the Russian Federation after the collapse of the USSR. The defense industry suffered a lot from the "optimizers". So supporting "garage businesses" is a good idea. Young specialists have a place to apply themselves. Another advantage of "garages" is that this is no longer the target (which is large, in plain sight) on which they will hit. All the state needs is to help them with subsidies, equipment and benefits. And while the clumsy state machine rebuilds centralized, large enterprises, "garages" will bring a lot of benefits. So don't be ironic.

The topic is relevant, dangerous and ......... interesting. Taking into account the development of satellite Internet. Drones are brought and assembled by "illiterate personnel" anywhere in the world. The cheapness of components, and the inability to track their deliveries, are amazing. Remote control, involving the same players in online games. Negr launches, and somewhere, thousands of kilometers away, an operator sits - for whom this is a game. Only in Russia, at least 2000 drones are produced per month. And how many of them are delivered to Ukraine? As always my comment leaves more questions than answers IMHO.
