“We do not carry out any maintenance of Leopard tanks”: Indonesia announces that the West has sent all spare parts to equip the “Leopards” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Leopard 2RI of the Indonesian Army

The world community is closely following the course of the conflict on the territory of Ukraine, trying to draw conclusions from the military confrontation between the RF Armed Forces and the Kyiv regime, the supply of troops of which was completely taken over by the West.

For example, a conference entitled “The Year of the Russian-Ukrainian Conflict: Lessons for the Army” was held in Indonesia with the participation of high-ranking military personnel. On it, Major General Yanuar Adil, who is responsible for arming the armored forces, shared his vision of the prospects for the development of troops. According to him, the special operation of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation showed the importance tanks on the modern battlefield. According to him, this is evidenced by the zeal with which the West organized deliveries to the independent MBT and units for them:

All surplus spare parts for Leopard tanks, available to NATO countries, were sent to equip vehicles destined for Ukraine. If we now try to order spare parts in Germany, they will not be in the warehouses [suppliers]. Therefore, at present, no maintenance of Indonesian tanks is being carried out.

Indonesia is armed with 42 Leopard 2A4 units and 61 Leopard 2RI vehicles in various modifications weighing from 56 to 62 tons. Against the background of an acute shortage of spare parts for them, the general proposed to develop their own competencies in tank building. To begin with, to modernize the Tiger medium tank [developed jointly with the Turkish defense industry]. In particular, it is proposed to create a special version of the vehicle with a reconnaissance unit attached to it. drone.

In this regard, he urged not to reduce funding for the troops, but to direct funds for the implementation of local projects, not counting on the ability of the West to meet demand in the context of a proxy conflict with Russia.

The request for tanks from Ukraine proves that they are still needed and relevant

- says the general, whose words are quoted by the local publication Kompas.

    Who will run out of spare parts faster?" To be or not to be? That is the question!

    I came across this (2012 by the way):
    Explain to the fool why Indonesia has tanks?!
    Answers below, choose your favorite :)

    - Demonstrators to crush;
    - If they swim, then swim for the women to the neighbors;
    - In Indonesia, separatism is good, it is calmer with tanks;
    - This deal, if it takes place - 1000% corruption is not needed there tanks;
    - There is a suspicion that they rolled back the leaders so that they bought scrap metal.
    - If the Indonesians manage to deliver at least one tank to the interior of their part of New Guinea, then the Papuans will immediately stop rebelling :)))
    Well, for parades, as without it;
    - Why does Russia need a Ministry of Culture?
    -- Ha-ha! Great "hairpin" about the ministry;)

    And for dessert ...

    - As a former tanker, I authoritatively declare:
    1. a tank is good for someone who has it, and bad for someone who doesn’t have it in wartime or times of trouble
    2. one tank is good, but two - higher firepower and more efficient maneuver on the battlefield.
    3. tank - not sour cream, does not spoil quickly
    4. Therefore, the stock pocket does not pull.
    I would also buy it for myself, but there is not enough money, and they won’t sell it to me :)

    This, by the way, is an example of the conscientiousness of the "Western partners" in the course of their arms trade: if they themselves find it more necessary to use the available reserves of spare parts elsewhere, then the former buyers will be elbowed aside, and they will wait until the seller shows mercy and again turns attention to them.
