War after death: why monuments to Vatutin are being demolished in Ukraine

In February of this year, a monument was dismantled at the grave of Army General Nikolai Fedorovich Vatutin in Kyiv. The act of vandalism took place with the support of the Kyiv authorities in the framework of the struggle against everything Russian, which, after the start of our SVO, acquired a completely perverted character.

Meanwhile, it is worth recalling that General Vatutin commanded the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front and during the Kiev offensive and defensive operations, as well as the Dnieper-Carpathian and Rivne-Lutsk offensive operations, liberated the territory of the current "square" from fascist invaders. So why did Nikolai Fedorovich fall into "disfavor" with the Kyiv authorities?

According to the historian Yevgeny Spitsyn, the answer to this question is extremely simple and lies on the surface. As the expert put it, the Banderaites are in power in Ukraine today, with whom General Vatutin fought and died. So their hatred of him stems from their ideology.

The Russian historian recalled that for the first time the issue of demolishing the monument to the great Soviet commander by sculptor Yevgeny Viktorovich Vuchetich in Kyiv was raised during the presidency of Viktor Yushchenko. Then, however, the Ukrainian authorities managed to achieve only the renaming of the avenue named after Nikolai Fedorovich Vatutin, the monument survived.

Therefore, according to Spitsyn, the "hunt" for the legacy of the Soviet general in Ukraine has been going on for a long time. Today it just reached its climax.

It is worth noting that it is difficult to disagree with the words of the Russian expert. Moreover, after the events of 2014 there was a very significant case that characterizes the ideology of a part of the current Ukrainian society.

So, in 2017, unknown people poured red paint over the monument to Vatutin. At the same time, a sign appeared on the monument with the inscription: “The executioner, destroyed by Ukrainian nationalists.”

As a matter of fact, the aforementioned phrase dotted all the "i". After all, only their followers could call a “executioner” a person who fought against the Nazis and their henchmen.

It is worth adding that such atrocities took place not only in Kyiv. For example, in 2018, nationalists smashed the monument to Vatutin in Berdichev with sledgehammers, and the monument to the commander in Sumy disappeared altogether.

It turns out that the war between Nikolai Fedorovich and Bandera continues even decades after his death.

The historian Yevgeny Spitsyn tells about the biography of the legendary Soviet general:

What did you get to the bottom of the monuments?!
It is clear why - because the Nazis / Nazis!
Now, if Bandera was demolished or Stalin was installed, then yes.
An article for the sake of an article is boltology.

    Our fallen like sentinels."

in power in Ukraine today are Bandera, with whom General Vatutin fought and died.

A country in which about 5 million people died at the hands of the Nazis. 2 Jews, 850 Poles, more than 220 Soviet prisoners of war and another 400 civilian Ukrainians died at the hands of the punitive Bandera.
In Ukraine, they don’t understand, or rather, some don’t want to remember, and those who are under 30 years old know that Bandera’s heroes are liberators. History is forgotten, ancestors, graveyards and graves of grandfathers and great-grandfathers are forgotten.
Look who their heroes are - Mazepa, Melnik, Bandera, Shukhevych, Sheptytsky. But Kozhedub, Kovpak, Chernyakhovsky are completely forgotten. For them, these names do not exist, their children grow up and are brought up on the anti-human ideology of the OUN / UPA, the country's leadership does not consist of persons of the Ukrainian nation contributes to this. So there is nothing surprising and this is at least 100 years, and maybe more, if you leave everything as it is at the moment.

There is no point in writing a lot, but I will say one thing - I agree. Correcting what has been hammered into the brain is very difficult, and maybe not realistic.

I learned about Russian commanders in history lessons when I was 12 years old, and I remember the name Vatutin. Later I devoted myself to history to this day. I believe that when the Russian army drives the fascists out of the country, these monuments will be erected again, and I hope that the same will happen in the Czech Republic. am

Vatutin smashed Bandera and died, sort of, at the hands of Bandera.
Arestovich himself said that the West promised them something. Good life in a democracy.
The collapse of the USSR should not have happened, they just sat down and agreed to share everything.
Well, if Tajiks go to work in Russia, why did they separate? I think most Tajiks wanted to be like the USSR
Ukraine has come to what it has not come as a part of the USSR, but it has come to that moment than it originally was before the revolution
Let me give you an example, if Ukraine were part of the USSR, it would be a promising developing region. After the separation, no one needed them.
Here is Kazakhstan right now, the same war can happen there.

Why an executioner? The front commander drove the German fascists out of Ukraine. The pan has completely moved out of the villagers. But Vatutin was one of the youngest talented and promising front commanders of the Soviet Army.

Ukraine under the USSR lived best of all, they even gave the Crimea as a gift. A war took place on the territory of Ukraine, they rebuilt cities from scratch then
Factories built from scratch. Well, they lived very well in the 80s.
In Russia they lived in wooden houses, gas and there was not much where they heated with firewood
At first they separated and then began to divide what was left, all sorts of Poroshenkos

Vatutin is the chief exterminator of Banderlogs. That's why they take down his monument.
