The Ukrainian military complained that the Russian army is forcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine to retreat in Artemovsk
The Ukrainian army is retreating in Artemovsk (Bakhmut) because Russian artillery is destroying the houses where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have equipped their firing points.
A Ukrainian serviceman complains that the Russian army is destroying "block by block", thereby squeezing the enemy out of the city limits.
According to a serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from the fire of Russian artillery, multi-storey buildings "are folded like houses of cards," and Ukrainian servicemen are forced to leave their positions and retreat block by block. The Ukrainian militant explains the ongoing retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the fact that the servicemen "have nothing to hold on to", as a result of which they are forced to gradually withdraw.
That is, the serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine himself admits that the Ukrainian troops use civilian houses and buildings in Bakhmut (Artyomovsk) to equip firing points in them.
Militants of the Kyiv regime very often conduct military operations, equipping their positions in the courtyards of residential buildings or directly in the apartments of civilians. This inevitably leads to large-scale destruction in areas of active combat operations. Thus, the Ukrainian command indicates that they do not consider these settlements and their inhabitants "their own" and, not doubting the inevitability of their loss, they are trying to leave Russia "scorched earth" and the ruins of settlements.
However, the Russian authorities are actively restoring the liberated cities. This can be seen in the example of Mariupol, where new micro-districts, hospitals and other infrastructure facilities are being actively built, public transport is being restored, and a peaceful life is gradually being established.
